  1. That's a lot of work for a single lane in/out of the city..
  2. The last photo is a condo building with 6(?) condos I think. If I remember a couple of years ago the original plan was delivery in 2018 but presales were very poor and they delayed until finally last year they just started building them, and poorly at that. Edit: Oof yeah, 6 currently available on Redfin, listed for 1429 days...
  3. No I need to make a trip. Unfortunately I only see Golden Boy and Baby Maker in stores. Also love me some Pilsner Urquell, tastes even better in one of their park beer gardens
  4. To I will NEVER put my beer in cans... Can't wait to see what Gilde puts out here because I honestly love almost everything OMB makes, but he makes it impossible for me to want to support them. The Noda Maibock is fantastic, but I struggle finding decent German lagers/pilsners/bocks from any of my other local favorites.
  5. They used this picture in a Charlotte Agenda article about the Parkwood church apartments. I don't think they're getting screened which is tragic because I think they did a really nice job with the full project. https://charlotte.axios.com/264314/apartment-tour-from-villa-heights-church-to-cozy-apartments/
  6. I wouldn't really call this a tech company though, they really are just a relatively new building contractor based out of Charlotte going through some private funding. There are plenty of local Commscope or Cisco contractors providing DAS and wireless options like this one, nothing special.
  7. Absolutely not. There are tons of processing steps in between Piedmont Lithium and actual battery production, which Arrival does not make their own batteries whatsoever, they are buying cells from LG. They are also building what they are calling a microfactory, they aren't even a significant user compared to other car manufacturers.
  8. The gamblers who currently head to Cherokee would switch to Kings Mountain in a heartbeat to save 2.5 hours of driving. Hotel rooms are for 4 hours naps at 3am for these people, not people passing through on vacation. Sure there might still be vacation traffic and families that still go to Cherokee, but this is going to be a HUGE blow to the real gamblers for Cherokee, which is where they make the majority of their money.
  9. This is definitely focused on pedestrians. The "rail trail" portion in Uptown is absolutely not usable by bikers. There is adequate space between stations but the route weaves between benches and the tracks in the stations and has people standing waiting for the trail all of the time.
  10. Unfortunately they were paying for the irrigation by overdraft fees
  11. Charlotte is doing a pretty good job of road diets on the north side but through residential neighborhoods (Plaza, Parkwood, Matheson next), but I would think South Blvd would still be prioritized due to pedestrian deaths there even though it handles a ton of commuter traffic: https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=a76fc08608754c23969be0c902dcc74f&extent=-80.9822,35.144,-80.6927,35.3119
  12. The 11k number is just the largest of the firms. A 2019 UNCC housing study put it just under 50k single family homes as rental properties as of 2017 (not sure of a later number but likely higher than that).
  13. https://ui.uncc.edu/story/wall-street-backed-landlords-now-own-more-11000-single-family-homes-charlotte Study at UNCC about investor-owned properties in Charlotte. Almost 5% of single family homes, and this doesn't include smaller investors who also own a big piece of the Charlotte housing supply. These are also focused primarily on rentals on the lower income side.
  14. APZNZA~1.PDF Here is a fun article from the local Noda News about the Electric Park in Noda that was traded for the current YMCA building back in 1952.
  15. It was actually a church. The YMCA and the United Methodist (on 36th) swapped buildings back in the day
  16. Burial Taproom coming to Plaza Midwood https://burialbeer.com/location/charlotte/
  17. Tons of the all cash offers are just investors, you'll see them popup as rentals a few days later or look for signs out front. Happening in cities all across the US, not just Charlotte, although Charlotte is one of the worst offenders. Nationwide it's 1.9 months of inventory which is the lowest since they've tracked the stat in 1982.
  18. If you're going off of Google Maps like @Urban Cowboy this is just Noda, although I don't think I agree with the distinction. Either way it's a no from me dawg on any more acronyms like South End got.
  19. Blue text has been adopted as indicated sarcasm. There are a metric-fudge-ton of people in the US that listen to bishops and equivalent figureheads, at least when it suits them.
  20. Because the smallest most affordable house in the neighborhood is already getting demolished for a giant rectangle 5 feet from the property line but we could fit 3-4 families in the same space. We have a limited supply of houses and well short of what we need, especially with the number of people moving here. Unfortunately we are a long way from an equilibrium point and the crazy interest rates we have aren't helping, but much better to get ahead of it now and maximize the utility of the land in highly desired urban neighborhoods
  21. I still laugh every time I see those ridiculous CHA jerseys
  22. Obviously this is only 1 date and time but the West end zone is on the close side and the East is on the far side.
  23. Upper levels will not be used for MLS. Average MLS attendance for teams are between 14-25,000 fans except for Seattle and Atlanta (40 & 53,000). I think the lower bowl is 23,000 at Bank of America so it should be the perfect size to fill. I think there are still some supporter seats available and I'm not 100% sure but I think they are the more shaded end zone than the West Side
  24. The general seating sections do have a seat license. I think some of the city funding required 10 years of play at Bank of America Stadium, so if you add another $35-90 a year onto the season ticket cost it isn't outrageous
