  1. So when the elderly, handicapped, and people of limited income were force out of their residences which they could probably barely afford (for the Four Seasons development), everyone was screeching and howling "they should leave" if they don't like change. But when someone wants to remove old timey buildings that no one notices, everyone mobilizes to action to save those sorry drab buildings because they are old. Man, that some serious depravity.
  2. The location of their headquarters will not be released until Monday. It will be interesting to see where they wind up. Someplace already long standing or one of the buildings that are under construction or planned. Fifth & Broadway, Nashville Yards, One KVB, Gulch Union, Capital View, BroadWest, The Moore, One22One
  3. It makes one wonder how long the developer will wait for Amazon to decide if they want to expand. With all of the office buildings under construction or planned; it might not be prudent to wait five or more years for Amazon to decide if they want more office space. Especially if they can get those other two buildings filled with other tenants already wanting to be in Nashville Yards.
  4. Amazon securing rights for first offer, first refusal is interesting. Does it mean the developer will build one or both buildings on spec and then offer Amazon the first shot at them. If not, how would they court other tenants with Amazon guaranteed at having the first shot at one or both buildings. Seems like an awkward way to try and secure other possible tenants.
  5. I'm guessing this forum is the one thing keeping you from running amok.
  6. The development is not a mall. It's going to have hundreds of thousands of square feet of office, residential, and retail. What's to complain about other than it doesn't have the high rises from the initial rendering that everyone was whining about in the first place.
  7. I'm talking about the people who for certainty prognosticated that this development was unlikely to ever happen or was a pipe dream that would take decades to begin. If you don't know, then you don't know. Those companies know what they're doing.
  8. Yeah an automobile manufacturing making Nashville its North American headquarters and hiring people is disappointing and not a big catch. This forum is insane.
  9. A Waffle House would take some real gymnastics to work in such a miniscule space, plus the cost for the land. They would also be largely dependent on residents in the immediate area to be their bread and butter in order to stay in business. Out of Towners do not come to Nashville to eat at a Waffle House and Nashvillians are not going to pay $20 for parking to go eat at a Waffle House.
  10. The wind took down hundred year old trees. It's no different from '98 when some of the buildings downtown lost their windows.
  11. It will be interesting to see if someone jabber jawed Nashville out of landing Oracle. When a company says keep quiet, they mean keep quiet. Total unprofessionalism and incompetence just because at least one person could not control their happiness emotion. The mayor's office and/or Chamber of Commerce needs to find out the person(s) responsible for leaking to the press and take action.
  12. I knew this was the problem with this place. I'm glad someone actually came out and confirmed it. This is why this particular messageboard has such nauseatingly repetitive over the top caterwauling. Everyone in the bubble is trying to either impress each other or over the top each other for "socializing" reasons. Pretty sad. Other messageboards on and off this forum don't have the need for the "socializing" thing. Hence they don't have the imbecilic caterwauling. Wonder why this particular forum is such an outlier?
  13. I'm amused at the amount of wailing because everyone is obsessed with wanting people to be packed like sardines in confined areas. What's the obsession with densayteeeeeee? I've actually seen people write about forcing people to live in these "dense urban cores". Why? How does that improve their life?
  14. Ohhhhh the horror, no densayteeeeeeee!!! These people know what they're doing and are preserving a quality of life. I didn't know ordinary citizens are supposed to be subservient to "elite" oligarchs and their mindless psycophants. I'm glad there's a system to keep them in check.
  15. Looks like a pre-school contest design. The architect was probably drinking a juicy juice when he drew it. We'll stick with the eleven half billion to two billion dollar developments that are underway.
  16. Nobody gives a crap about Atlanta. Everything Nashville touches turns to gold; from the Stanley Cup Finals to the NHL All Star Game to the NFL Draft to the soon to be NASCAR Awards. This is postulation on why the guy or company didn't sell the lot. Plus it's just a fact that higher ups from other cities are apprehensive and/or flat out fear how prominent Nashville is.
  17. Either that or he was trying to sabotage the project. The base level of the two tower development was going to be yet another place for people to enjoy themselves. The guy is based in Atlanta. He might have found all of the construction and development occurring in Nashville unsettling. It might have irked him. He is already rich so the money may not matter to him. For some people civic pride trumps many things.
  18. Interesting how everyone keeps harping about MLB's attendance while MLS teams have far fewer games and outside of Kansas City, Portland, and Salt Lake City most teams attendance appear to be 50% to 75% of capacity.
  19. If MLB will relocate a team here they'll put an expansion team here. It doesn't make any difference to MLB unless there's a difference in the fee.
  20. If they can't fill the seats they're going to have a hard time justifying a new stadium for eight regular season games a year. The stadium seats have looked anywhere from 20% to 40% vacant for the past four years. The NFL can't justify fleecing taxpayers for a team that can't fill the seats.
  21. This is probably why they wanted the MLS stadium at the fairgrounds instead of the east bank. It was probably their intention all along to get a Major League Baseball team in Nashville and have them play downtown. MLS is only one game a week. Major League Baseball is six to seven games a week which can more substantially justify a billion+ dollar investment by developers. So now there will probably be two separate mixed-use stadium complexes. One at the fairgrounds and a larger one on the east bank.
