  1. If one goes by the scale on that image then it's going to make Nashville look extremely out of proportion just like Oklahoma City. Maybe he'll reduce it by 50 or 60 feet.
  2. Exactly, I have no idea why someone would want to soccer mom another forum.
  3. No insults to the people in this area unlike the ones thrown at the Fairgrounds people. Puzzling. Not really. I guess it matters what perceived class people belong to.
  4. Nashville is premium real estate so unless it's really financially unfeasible, most developers will not abandon their developments. The only non-tourist developments that have been cancelled as far as I can remember are: The Crescendo, The Crescent, and The Buckingham. The tourism announcements should be taken with a grain of salt since none of them come to fruition. The Skyspire and Polarcoaster towers. The Disney resort tower. The House of Blues tower. The August Moon dome. The resort in South Nashville.
  5. Your wrote the post not me. You said that Nashville went from AAA to Major League just because Amazon selected Nashville to put its Center of Excellence. I on the other hand replied that Nashville was already Major League because of a slew of recent corporate headquarter relocations. If you don't want anyone to analyze what you type then don't type it.
  6. It looks like Nashville is going to rack up the full eight buildings with Amazon coming to Nashville Yards. It went from 2 spec office buildings, a hotel, a boutique hotel, and an apartment building to now adding on an at least 30 story office building, a second office tower, and another apartment tower.
  7. I don't care if you liked my post or not. I don't post here for yours or anyone else's friendship. I don't post for Likes or emoticon responses. I'm a grown man. You see, I didn't even need to go hunt for some animated gif to say it for me.
  8. If Nashville wanted a MLB team bad enough to build a stadium then MLB would give it an expansion team. If they have to choose they would much rather be in Nashville than Charlotte since Nashville would raise MLB's public profile considerably more than Charlotte would.
  9. If you have something to say, then say it. Why would you need to use an animated gif from some movie person to babble for you? We're all presumably grown men here. At least I know I am. I can understand if you can have anything to say for your own self. Stand up for yourself and say it.
  10. How is that Nashville was playing Triple A ball when Philips, Nissan, Bridgestone, Hankook, Nokian, AllianceBernstein relocated their headquarters to Nashville? That's already Major League.
  11. I read on here the consensus was they weren't coming. Well I knew they were coming. I knew when they came to Nashville it was over. The people in the Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Tourism Bureau are alphas. They don't bow down and think Nashville is inferior to any place. If they were betas Nashville wouldn't be accomplishing anything.
  12. Very few if any companies are going to stay away from Nashville because of Amazon. Nashville has too much appeal to prospective employees. Do you actually think there are 5,000 people in Nashville just sitting around twirling their thumbs waiting for Amazon? Amazon is going to do what they as well as other corporations have always done no matter the city, which is recruit people from all over the country. Nashville's ability to bring jobs or corporate relocations will not be hampered by Amazon. There is a reason why there are 10 office towers under construction. Those developers see or know something about Nashville's future business prospects.
  13. That's not the reason they chose Nashville. "We realized that it would make a lot of sense for us to have an Eastern United States regional hub for our operations business, and Nashville just really impressed us in the HQ2 process," Carney said. "It’s a city pointing toward the future. It made itself very appealing for investment. It's a place where, if people don’t already live there, they are excited about moving there. That's always an important issue for us." They came, they saw, they liked.
  14. Well you need something. Because you keep hyperventalating about the deal not going through.
  15. I think it is an abomination to give away land to a billionaire and soccer is not interesting. I also loathe the snooty snowflake leftists who are for this boondoggle. However since I have an investment in a new establishment it would be in my good interest for MLS to come to Nashville so I'll help y'all out with some pro argument suggestions. 17 home games equals thousands if not 10,000+ fans of opposing teams coming to Nashville paying for lodging, transportation, food, drinks, and entertainment. MLS fans are just as passionate as NFL fans and every year tens of thousands of NFL fans come to Nashville spending hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Tennessee Titans have only eight home games. MLS teams have 17 home games so the economic impact of its opposing team's fans might be greater than those of the NFL. Barring the playoffs the NFL runs from the second week of September through December and the NHL runs from October through the first week of April. MLS would extend Nashville's sports scene throughout the entire calendar year with its March through October schedule. That means more people will visit Nashville from the second week of April through the first week of September than otherwise without MLS. Tell the council members they've seen the thousands of opposing team's fans themselves if they have been to a Tennessee Titans home game. It would be just like that and more with MLS since its teams have nine more games than NFL teams. The stadium could also be used for concerts and other events that are too big for the arena and too small for the Tennessee Titans stadium.
  16. Where in my post did I say he wanted to shut down anything? Apparently my post has you hallucinating and reading things that are not there. With that being a fact I think you should be advising yourself.
  17. How is Kansas City a so called "elder" city when it was created in 1850 and Nashville was created in 1789? Most people couldn't tell you a thing about Kansas City nor do they care about Kansas City. The only reason anyone would know about Kansas City at all is because of MLB and the NFL.
  18. 1) Is there supposed to be a quota on the type entities that go on Broadway? Broadway is jam packed nightly and daily for a reason. If they are too lazy to go 30 yards to B.B. Kings or 150 yards to Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar then that's their problem. It's a good thing that downtown doesn't contain the type of joints where the patrons shoot into crowds because they got "dissed". 2) If a Donald Trump banner or bumper sticker unsettles them that much then those so called professionals sound like the type of people Nashville or the companies here don't need. Broadway did those businesses a big time favor. 2) You say the face of Nashville is downtown. Well downtown is serving Nashville pretty well right now. I know reading that makes the Oscar the Grouch crowd throw a hissy fit and their garbage cans against the wall. In the real world outside of internet forums, downtown is bringing in record numbers of visitors and corporate relocations. So it's not as bad as those around here fabricate it to be. 3) As far as playing with the "Big Boys" (whatever that means), Nashville already is. Why do you think of the 40 plus buildings in the works or under construction in and around the central business district, 40% are hotels?
