  1. Stark difference from last time the Stones were in town, and he visited the Parthenon.
  2. TSU is no longer part of the Tennessee Board of Regents; it has its own board....Board of Trustees.
  3. As they did for Nissan with the TCAT Mufreesboro campus in Smyrna...along with a very nice training center at Volkswagen in Chattanooga for TCAT Chattanooga (State).
  4. We're closed! Only kidding, One thing that does confound me...and indirectly connected to this topic: the lack of Nashville-based restaurants here e.g. , brands from Fresh Hospitality like Martin's, Big Bad Breakfast or Tazikis (there has been talk of 55 South coming to town, but please...no thanks). Fresh Hospitality owns Taco Mac, that would be a dream come true almost anywhere north and/or west of Chattanooga in the mid-state. Restaurants like Jonathan's Grille or any lunch/brunch venue like Big Bad Breakfast would kill it here....as they'd be well above any competition. Oh well, we do have great local restaurants...so, one shouldn't complain or rue over greener grass.
  5. Not when you're only football rich...as the story goes. They're not in the same tax bracket with Mark Davis, but they don't have the spare change lying about to fund massive upgrades either.
  6. So Nashville MSA didn't reach two million at 2020 Census....just shy per the county numbers. Hickman would have pushed the MSA over the top for 2M.
  7. Fairly easy to get in and out from...way easier than Pilot in Lebanon. QT's a bit out of the way for me; I use that exit, but from Exit 239 I'm venturing to/from north of I40 when there. I grabbed a bottle of water, snacks looked ample...just not as ample as the new Racetrac. Premium gas was reasonable that close to the interstate, but I try to get premium from Sam's Club at all times.
  8. Got gas there today...good snacks on-hand...but may not beat the revamped Racetrac offerings. Someone recently complimented their pulled pork tacos...I think I would like to try the brisket tacos.
  9. Badji is the first forward to go. https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/nashvillesc/2021/07/29/nashville-sc-trades-dominique-badji-colorado-rapids-july-2021/8077094002/
  10. Bundesliga comes calling, he's going home.
  11. Extending Jhonder at July 1st deadline surprised me. Is Rios the odd man out? Hani isn't long for this market...he's having a year!
  12. Aké Loba had a couple of opportunities to get on the score sheet last night; he should soon. Huge signing!
  13. Almost every time I catch up on this thread, I can hear Jan Brady exclaim Belmont...Belmont...Belmont!!!
  14. You'll be on I40 and not I65, right? Exit 239 Watertown. Take a left onto HWY 70...you can't miss the sign from the interstate. Imminently opening.
  15. I passed by last week, and that lot was empty i.e., whatever structure had been there has been removed for this development.
  16. The Glade Estates development is just north of Couchville Pike, but it's only forty or fifty homes.
  17. Not sure if posted on Knoxville board, but soon you'll have a Buc-ees even closer to NC. Buc-ees will build the largest convenience store in the world in Sevierville at 74K sf surpassing the New Braunfels, TX store at 66K sf. This iteration of Buc-ees will have 120 gas pumps. I get Sevierville; I don't get Crossville now that there will be a store just down the road. Why not Lebanon with the I40 and I840 traffic? Even Cookeville with I40 and Hwy 111 traffic. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that there will be a Buc-ees only thirty minutes up the mountain, but I don't get it. This sort of expansion into Tennessee must mean that the Nashville MSA isn't long for a store.
  18. Picked up some beaver nuggets only a couple of weeks ago...family member Jonses for them.
  19. As well as grills, smokers and fire pits.
  20. Alabama has two; and soon a third will likely be placed just across the border in Athens.
  21. I get what you're saying, but I840 is connected to Gallatin via Hwy 109 at the Central Pike interchange Exit 72. 109 is finally being widened from Gallatin to Wilson County. 109 does connect I40, I840 and I65 east of Nashville, just not as an interstate corridor. But, Gallatin and now Lebanon seem to be developing at breakneck speed regardless of that spur that could have been.
  22. I'll soon no longer have to count down to my next Whataburger visit, which is at twelve days currently. The Lebanon store is confirmed; it's finally official. https://www.wkrn.com/news/whataburger-submits-site-plan-for-lebanon/
  23. It's puzzling why TDOT stopped the widening at Hartmann Dr....anyone that drives through regularly can see how congested it can get at the Cumberland/Hwy 231 exit. I presumed it was another pay was we go reasoning.
