  1. Right! I came through twice this week...wow. Also, the BNA Hilton is fairly prominent coming in from the east.
  2. BNA can realistically hit 22 million for FY23....WOW.
  3. Exactly; an invitation for more local meddling and retribution...uh I mean administrative oversight from the state. When super majorities don't have to worry about fixing budgets, their hands are free to plot and scheme.
  4. Not specifically or at all unless it is included in the modernization fund to alleviate congestion in all four TDOT districts....at first glance.
  5. Lots of talk that Costco will be coming to Wilson County on Golden Bear Gateway in Mt. Juliet.
  6. It is, but that's a stretch, pardon the pun, as Nashville is an outlier in that practically the whole county's population and area is included in the city's limits rather than just what its true city limits might be sans metropolitan status. Take a comparative look at area: Nashville city limits (by area) dwarf both Atlanta and Miami's city limits (by area); so, objectively, is it really larger than either Atlanta and Miami by city population metric when factoring area and population density? Fun with numbers - we could take population density and apply comparatively by discounting Nashville's city limits and Nashville would not be the 20th largest city by population in the country.
  7. Likely, but is that a fair comparison? Both Chattanooga and Knoxville's city population has been stagnant by this metric for many decades. But in no way are Clarksville and Murfreesboro comparable when measuring against those cities as a whole i.e., MSA. E.g., Nashville has a larger city population than both Atlanta and Miami....what does that mean? Nothing when comparing those three cities by their MSAs.
  8. If you were going back next month, say for a couple of shows. Would you Uber/Lyft again or taxi?
  9. I miss the butcher, Carnivore Meat Company, at the Factory (although you can still "mail order" Boerewurs (South African sausage); similarly, the Mill at Lebanon is having some revival. Tenn Lakes Brewery with Prince Street Pizza (from Gallatin), is helping to produce traffic to the Mill.
  10. The difference being that Knoxville's MSA is nearly 900K; whereas, Murfreesboro is only a part of Nashville's MSA. Clarksville's MSA is approximately 300K.
  11. I drove by the other day and saw the Crown & Iris signage; I thought what a cool name for a neighborhood pub. When I came back through, I stopped at the Publix and looked more closely at the Crown & Iris suite....nope...it's a family boutique.....but the new Publix is nice, it has the new store arrangement with the deli in the round. That's the third Publix in Gallatin now along with the second that just opened down the road in Lebanon. Crazy times getting crazier in Sumner and Wilson Counties. Also, the Twice Daily adajacent to this shopping center is quite nice, and the White Bison coffee is pretty good.
  12. The appropriation bill cannot be amended; it is now law and appropriated for FY22-23. TSU is receiving $318 million of which $250 million is for infrastructure updates and upgrades to "curtail" the underfunding (state land grant funds from the federal government for several decades) for TSU's capital maintenance (renovations and repairs). $60 million in the FY22-23 budget is for TSU capital outlay i.e., a new building...specifically a new engineering building. The other $8 million appropriated for TSU capital maintenace in FY22-23 is for run of the mill annual maintenance items e.g., roofs, MPE, parking and other costly maintenance projects. What could happen in lieu of an amendment to the FY22-23 appropriation would be a bigger share of additional capital appropriations for TSU in FY23-24; as it so happens, the governor will be introducing his administration's FY23-24 budget request in the very near future.
  13. Same...heading out 12th and returning 16th next month, but have a March trip out as well.....looking forward to then unless something pops up in Feburary.
  14. Realistic chance of hitting 11,000,000 halfway through the fiscal year.
  15. The ARC's defined region include the easternmost counties from Middle Tennessee.
  16. If you're referring to Hwy 111, thanks to the ARC's, Appalachian Regional Commission, Cooridor J and its partnership with the state of Tennessee; we have a great roadway from Kentucky through the Upper Cumberland to Chattanooga linking the area to Lexington, Atlanta and beyond. Not all that long ago, it was proposed to become I175...however not likely to happen in the next generation or two...if ever. It is part of Corridor J; Tennessee's link to the ARC's ADHS system....a federal and state partnership to spur econcomic development in the states making up the Appalachian region.
  17. I thought it was open when I came through a couple of times last week...didn't it open in September?
  18. Speaking of Cool Springs, I work a bit in Lebanon, and I think we really should straighten this whole Wilco vs Wilco thing out. I propose that Williamson County make the proper abbreviation to LIAMCO and end this beef with WILCO (I may or may not be manufacturing any dust ups between the counties on this thread).
