  1. Luvemtall I get them from Etsy and other sites online. The Batman building was purchased on Etsy from a shop out of Philadelphia called StarsoftheCity. The CN Tower was from a shop on Etsy called 7WondersStore which is out of Manitoba, CA. They offer a variety of high quality 3D printed architectural models.
  2. The Batman building has arrived. I’m pretty impressed with the quality. Now the fun part is going to be painting it. In the mean time it’ll be sitting on a shelf.
  3. Haha I’m glad you noticed it. Another thing I’m a fan of. IDOJ. I have the first season bottle as well. It was just a plain 1964 Jim Beam Christmas decanter with gold vines and a green wash painted on it to make it look thousands of years old. When the show was picked up for a second season, they decided to film it in color and changed the bottle to what most people know. Also, Barbara Eden’s favorite color was purple which was a huge influence on the design. She recently donated the 2nd-5th season bottle she kept when filming wrapped, to the Smithsonian. Here are some close up pics from my 1st season and 2nd-5th season bottle.
  4. Hello everyone! I wanted to share my love of model making and building things with you all. I recently purchased a 3D printed model of the CN Tower from a shop on Etsy. It arrived all white (I’ve attached a photo) so I painted it, mounted it to a wood base and added some landscaping. I’m really pleased with the outcome. I think in another life I should have been an architectural model maker. I have also shared some other things I’ve built including the Lego Eiffel Tower. You will also notice a screen shot of the Batman building. The Etsy shop that I bought the Burj Khalifa model from created a model at my request. I’m going with the larger 15” version. Can’t wait to get started on this one. I hope you guys enjoy!
  5. I’ve never liked the way the AT&T sign looks considering the original sign for South Central Bell (the towers first tenant) was designed to be placed in the open arched area. I think it would have been cool if the AT&T sign was placed there and the globe was actually a globe and not 2D. The original sign looked really nice and wat lit in blue neon. Also, there was a lot more lighting at the top of the building originally. It looked so much better I think. These two photos show the tower with its original signage (all the lights at the top of the building were not turned on in this photo) and the signage afterwards for when it was Bell South. Even that looked better in my option. I’ve always thought the current sign looks tacky and an afterthought.
  6. I found it interesting that this article was from Cleveland, Ohio. https://fox8.com/news/nexstar-media-wire/batman-building-the-history-of-nashvilles-iconic-skyscraper/amp/
  7. Interior designer here. This is very underwhelming. The staging looks very cheap, and what’s with the lattice and mirror in the entryway? I’d have expected way more (especially the staging) from this brand.
  8. There’s an EVO here in Hampton Roads. It was originally CineBistro that opened about 13 years ago, and It’s a really nice experience. I enjoy being able to order food and eat while I watch a movie, while the reclining seats are a plus as well. We have another chain in the area called Cinema Cafe that offers a similar experience, minus bowling and arcade games. Is there currently anything like this in the Nashville area?
  9. Yeah I feel the same. I’m glad to see this going up, but was hoping the top would have more of a slant to it. From this angle it doesn’t look like it. Perhaps it’ll look more pronounced on the north and south facing facade.
  10. I spent a lot of time in Germany growing up and know enough to get by. For me though, I thought Dutch was easier to learn. It does sound quite a bit different. As a child when I first heard it spoken, I thought it sounded like they had something stuck in their throat. I also learned a lot of the language from watching television. Even though we lived in Germany, we picked to a couple of Dutch stations. They aired quite a few American shows in English with Dutch subtitles.
  11. In the 80’s I went to an international school in Holland when my dad got orders to Germany. We were right on the Dutch border and the closest high school I could attend was in Holland about an hour and a half bus ride one way. So with that being said, I picked up on the Dutch language. Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij would be pronounced Kōnik-licka Luked-vart Mots-ska-pay. (Royal Dutch Airlines) I hope that helps :-)
  12. I really wish the owners of this building would do something about the lighting. You can see in this picture the light in the bottom red circle has been flickering for months, and now it appears the light at the top of the spire is blown out. It would be nice if the lights were the same color white and brightness as the pedestrian bridge.
  13. What a difference 50 years makes! Well at least not to the interstate.
  14. I think one of the best views of the skyline will be from the North coming in from Clarksville and Louisville. Also 440 coming off of I-40 if you’re coming from the West.
