  1. This is a interesting plan by a you tuber. Would love to see this happen.
  2. Great news! And a step in the right direction. Now let’s get Jet Blue!!
  3. Yes, still hoping Grand Hyatt moves forward it had conference space and more. Let’s see what happens this year
  4. Exactly hoping for no issues. It would be a great addition to S Main st and much needed
  5. One thing to look for soon is a consensus statement coming out soon from Downtown Merchants association asking for the soccer stadium to be built downtown. This is a step in the right direction.
  6. Interesting post. There are some plausible ideas in theory posted here. We all know Money is the great equalizer to all great ideas. Hopefully some of these will be taken into consideration by people who can actually make it a reality.
  7. Good point. 901fc owners or city would have to purchase land in snuff I do know some of the land is currently privately own. My question is does the Orgel team own all the vacant land in snuff ??
  8. I’ve sent a few emails out already to serious developers. Not sure what they think of Soccer Stadium idea. However I can tell u some in the political realm like the possibility of it.
  9. Not sure I’d have to do a lil more research. Maybe another poster could tell us what’s was there and what that shipwreck is next to bridge
  10. 901fc owners would love to stay downtown. However they were a part of the Mayor’s ask for state funds. The 52 million dollar ask from 901fc may not happen from everything I’m hearing. Just think about it downtown has a current TDZ as well that could capture state sales tax revenue from a soccer stadium. The Mayor was told by LRK there we’re better sites for SSS He is just hell bent on tearing down MSC which he considers a eyesore @ liberty Park. The snuff would be ideal for Soccer Specific Stadium. St Jude corporate support. Convention center foot traffic, New Sheraton redo + 300 room JW Marriott addition. Conwood 2 apts, uptown residential community. Bass pro near by and close to Harbor Town residents. 2 breweries already there and Has huge vacant parcels, 20+ acres available to develop an Indy eleven type vibe and feel. This should definitely be considered. The Downtown TDZ doesn’t expire until 2031 so it could be done. They may want to explore playing in Liberty Stadium while a better Soccer stadium could be built.
  11. This is perfect for USL Soccer Stadium river front view enough acreage to have practice fields, parking and academy. 2 breweries already in place and retail being built. Excellent access to extended trolley. Corporate support from St Jude a block away and convention center and new Sheraton and Proposed 300 room JW Marriott. This would truly make Memphis a soccer city!
  12. Memphis airport receives funds for terminal upgrades. https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/money/business/2023/02/27/memphis-airport-receives-federal-funding-expanded-capacity/69949884007/
  13. It could give off that Indy eleven look on the river banks except with a Memphis flavor. Drove by today and looked it is really coming along in that historic district a Soccer stadium would be an ideal anchor the area already has to brewery grind city + Souls and spirits. Someone needs to get the mayor to have better vision.
  14. They should be the new soccer stadium in the snuff district on the wolf river banks
  15. It has been slow. However it should be nice once it’s completed. Glad they put it to good use and adds to our hotel rooms in the downtown core. Now let’s get Sheraton Renovated & add that JW Marriott 300 room tower.
  16. Well Sheraton is in play now with their total renovation plans and additional 300 room tower. Hoping it’s a JW Marriott 300 room addition like originally planned
  17. Yep unacceptable. I admire their growth however I despise the elitist attitude and mind set. Honestly before it was IT City it was sh- - City. I remember when it was nothing but Country music and a Hee- Haw show.
  18. Honestly with current boon of housing becoming available in the edge Orleans Station, Vic ( hopefully) bakery, Rise on the ravine. New housing @ old flower building saw it demoed other day btw. That area needs more retail/ dining/ entertainment options. Would love to see CA site become Food Hall, home to Indie Memphis theater, distillery ( big river) and arcade/ pool sports bar. The lawn space could be used as well as a gathering place for Grizzlies playoff games, Tigers football games and theater night gatherings. Just a thought. It is a missing link in the development of the edge district. Hopefully this is the year we see some movement on redeveloping it. High Five will be a great addition let’s just hope it doesn’t dissolve
  19. Ethan knight DSG vp stated it was 20 million asking price
  20. Yes I completely agree and it’s adjacent to ravine, high cotton, Memphis made and the walk if ever built. Also the bakery and rise on ravine, the Vic, Orleans station. It’s a no brainer. Issue is the 20 million to control the 13 acre site
  21. Would like entertainment as a part like putt shack along with a food Hall and whiskey distillery
  22. Would love to see a culinary science center/ hotel / conference built downtown. That would be amazing fit based on our food history. Something like this: https://auranecenter.com/
  23. Yes it’s definitely a power play and a leverage maneuver. He wants the city to fork over more money they won’t do he’s showing I can make money off parking so F y’all
