  1. Change is inevitable and yes adapting to change is visionary. A revamp of mud Island would be ideal to Host BSMF and WBBQ contest. The land bridge needs to happen & a upgrade to Amphitheater and monorail is a must. Vision and infrastructure investment is what’s needed
  2. We have a new mayor elect that supported a retrofit of MSC during the save MSC campaign. Let’s see if he still has the vision to reopen it??
  3. Would love to see it as a mixed use - Distllery/ foodhall/ entertainment/ I can see some lodging. Let’s see who has a contract on it. Shelby county should look @ other vacant properties. There are more in the downtown core
  4. Agreed! The CA building should be a mixed use entertainment site that generates huge tax revenue for city
  5. Just imagine the possibilities. Great locale for a House of blues/ or Hard Rock Cafe/hotel. Could be a few things but I would push for entertainment spot there. This is great news for Downtown!!
  6. I will give my opinion 550 million dollar renovation can fix a lot of things. Including overhang in upper deck. https://www.audacy.com/929espn/sports/memphis-grizzlies/how-does-a-usd550-million-dollar-fedexforum-renovation-sound
  7. There’s a need for 400-500 room convention hotel. Maybe Sterick could fill that demand we need @ least 3 that size
  8. That would be super cool I’m hoping they decide on a luxury brand hotel. With 400-500 rooms.
  9. I read that they were still looking @ the possibility of a Hotel. That was encouraging a mix use Hotel/ apts/ retail/ dining would be awesome!!
  10. Yes it was lit up for 901 day. I’m excited to see what happens @ that historic building
  11. Interesting read in today CA about CA building https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/money/business/development/2023/09/05/dream-hotel-in-memphis-former-commercial-appeal-building-development/70727228007/
  12. Honestly MIM will be moving. The price gauging associated with damage fees have ran them out! It’s time to build a land Bridge connecting TLP to MI and renovate amphitheater and use the open land near flag poles to host BSMF clear the trees back and u have the space available.
  13. I’m curious about that too, doesn’t surprise me tho to be honest.
  14. Can U or someone copy and paste the MBJ article ??? every one is not a paid subscriber
  15. Yes they have dropped price. It would be a great time for 901 fc to look @ this possibility on the eastern side. It would be a amazing atmosphere for a soccer stadium.
  16. Agreed on the soccer stadium being built on the Eastern portion. The 901 fc Group should take a closer look @ this site. Close proximity to Ravine, Memphis Made, High cotton brewery and close in proximity to the proposed Walk on union with residential and hotels. 901 fc stadium would be a great addition to the edge district.
  17. It’s time to build the land bridge and move it to Mud Island
  18. Like the possibility of NHL. I hear that too. Let’s see how the renovation @ FedEx Forum goes. That is huge with determining NHL possibilities Robert Pera is the ex factor. WNBA is also a behind the scenes discussion by city council & Commission. Our next Mayor will be instrumental in determining if the city pursues any additional sports franchise. One more should be on the table IMO
  19. Ok let’s see it may be Portland or Charlotte. Memphis Brewers fits this city with all the breweries here.
  20. Absolutely agree! The land bridge is the key and moving The BBQ contest and a small lineup of concerts to a renovated and updated amphitheater is the way to go. There is more land mass on the southern tip of the island than most people realize the BBQ contest could certainly be held there
