  1. The Armory could be a great blue print for the CA building
  2. FYI MSC is the acronym for Mid- South Coliseum
  3. The soccer stadium concept would have been the highest & best use however that’s not feasible for the 901 fc owners to take on. They would have to be a part of the sports package ask along with grizzlies needed funds. Turn the warehouse into a distillery & tasting room for Big River.
  4. Totally agree! It has the potential to be an anchor development in the edge. Its highest and best use is certainly not storage. The warehouse has sooo many potential uses and the office building is also primed for a great use. Would much rather see Shelby county Government take it over rather than see it become self storage.
  5. Would love to see a larger gift shop in that space. Along with a Grizzlies museum celebrating the history and accomplishments of the franchise. Can’t wait for renderings to drop
  6. https://www.bizjournals.com/memphis/news/2024/03/26/commercial-appeal-warehouse-bought-union-avenue.html This has to be stopped. It makes absolutely no sense to use the warehouse as a storage facility. A citizen petition has to be started and presented to All parties Global storage, City Council. and county commissioners. As well as edge district board
  7. Definitely mixed use, we should email if you haven’t the medical center collaborative group about advocating against a proposal like this. It’s senseless and certainly not the highest and best use of this property CA has so much potential to add to Beale st/ edge district it should never be storage space that’s a ridiculous plan and waste of building
  8. Yes a gathering place with food truck park/ retail shops would be a nice touch
  9. Incorporating Robert church park as a gathering place pre/ post game would be amazing as well as adding Hard Rock, even a house of Blues addition would be perfect. More retail shops would also be a nice touch to the game day experience
  10. I think the board can certainly voice displeasure with this proposal. They can also start a petition drive from residents/ citizens against such a plan. There is a huge storage on union @ the intersection of Danny Thomas there is no need for another self storage in the edge area.
  11. This property has so much potential for mixed use potential. A storage unit is not the highest and best use for this Gem of a property. They really need to have better vision for this property
  12. Wouldn’t mind seeing a Hilton Conrad as the next brand. They have very nice and luxurious brands. Would definitely make a great convention hotel
  13. Memphis will eventually land WNBA. The league is doing a slow expansion next two teams will probably be added around 2028-2030
  14. Yes hopefully there will be surrounding developments, retail, dining, entertainment, Hotel. A outdoor gathering place with amphitheater would be a nice addition, Robert Church park would be a great location for that, existing infrastructure in place add food truck park and u have a great pregame gathering location especially come playoff time.
  15. Hopefully that type of investment would include a Hotel as well as other facilities. The vacant lot where the clipper was planned is also a location where development for the Grizzlies could happen
  16. What can help move this is if 901fc leadership can partner to build soccer specific stadium on approx 8-10 acres of the land. That would increase the revenue producing foot traffic/ parking sales tax etc to help jumpstart groundbreaking. Of course that’s going to require 901 fc going back to state for funds. That’s my view
  17. Hope this project moves forward it’s been in the making for a while. Fingers crossed it gets approved
  18. Good to know the Zoo is taking the lead on Aquarium, are they considering Mud Island as the location?? Or some other footprint??
  19. Church Park should certainly be a part of the game day experience. Lot could be done with that as a gathering place. Those vacant lots could certainly become a grizzlies entertainment space
  20. Yes that’s why distribution of the money stalled. They want something similar to deer district in Milwaukee. That vacant lot next to FedEx logistics could be apart of that plan. https://deerdistrict.com/
  21. That’s exactly right, these arguments that large hotels won’t work downtown is short sighted. They will be booked more often than some understand because u can host more large conventions if u have room occupancy available. Honestly the city has lost a lot of conventions due to lack of Available rooms.
  22. Not sure why he post here but I’m 100 percent sure Austin and Charlotte are much more progressive than Nashville. U notice he never responded to my post.
  23. I second that sentiment. Nashville is a fast growing city, however in what way are they growing?? Is the growth making it have better quality of life or Too expensive for most to swallow so they choose the outskirts and a 45 -60 minute drive into the core of Nashville?? Keep in mind that’s both ways. Are they incurring so much debt from the growth that the city’s bond rating has suffered because of it. Have they addressed the public Transit issue that continues to haunt the population but the city doesn’t have the backing of its citizens to address it because they can’t afford more taxes. Have they grown so much that a lot of industries no longer look @ Nashville because of extremely ridiculous land acquisition prices?? So when u say fastest growing I agree but the ultimate question is in what way ?? And is that growth conducive with the citizens being able to enjoy Quality of life from that growth or they are priced out?? Furthermore speaking as someone who has been there several times, it’s not better than San Antonio, Austin, Charlotte. While true it has grown more & faster than Memphis, Nashville really has capped and can forget MLB, WNBA. Truthfully speaking
