  1. They still haven’t opened up the new curbside drop off/pick up yet. Ridiculous. What is the hold up? GSP-ORD with AA is now twice a day seven days a week. Previously it was once a day GSP-CLT with AA is now nine times a day (eight on Saturdays) with three of the flights mainline. Previously it was eight times a day (seven on Saturdays) with two of the flights mainline.
  2. Avelo has extended their schedule through early November. MHT and ROC remain twice a week and HVN remains four times a week at least until then. No cuts. Great to see and shows demand is there.
  3. Don’t post stuff like that here. It’s too depressing. Simon don’t care about us. They only care about the big cities like Charlotte and Atlanta.
  4. Just like with Camperdown. Another lawsuit. Glad to see the judge ruled against Citisculpt when it came to the land sale: https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/business/citisculpt-downtown-greenville-agfa-redevelopment-lawsuit-fraud/article_1af854c4-033f-11ef-9336-f7699e9b94a7.html A parking lot at the corner of Academy and West Washington streets was, for the better part of a decade, supposed to transform into multi-family housing, but after a year in court fighting accusations of securities fraud, the developer has scrapped the project. Now, the lot behind Agfa Health's Greenville office is poised to sell to a Florida-based company for $6.8 million — but future plans for development remain unclear. All parties to the case agreed that CitiSculpt's plan to create a mixed-use building was no longer possible, but not everyone agreed on what should be done with the parking lot instead. The Finley Group seeks to sell the land to Henning Holdings LLC for $6.8 million. But McAlpine and CitiSculpt opposed the sale, asserting that the company had a valid lease on the property for more than 100 parking spaces and therefore it couldn't be sold. The judge disagreed that the lease was valid, pointing out that the lease agreement is between two of McAlpine's companies to rent the property for $1 per year, for a period of 129 years. The parking lease doesn't "reflect anything remotely close to the true value of the parking spaces," Bledsoe wrote. In December 2023, the court ordered CitiSculpt to cancel its parking lease and assist the Finley Group in finalizing the proposed sale. Henning Holdings, the prospective buyer, couldn't be reached for comment on the sale or what it would do with the land.
  5. Those people in New York I guess think we’re all shotgun carrying poor rednecks with missing teeth and no college degree that live in a trailer park. Yee-haw. And yet they all keep moving here. Go figure.
  6. Not a problem. Sorry for getting negative sometimes also. I guess I just get frustrated with how slow things sometimes progress around here with the delays we see between public and private projects. Hopefully once interest rates and inflation drop, things start to move at a faster pace.
  7. Westgate Mall now “under contract”: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/205-W-Blackstock-Rd-Spartanburg-SC/29829632/
  8. I’ll get drone pics again sometime next week when it’s sunny. I’ll go up 115 feet next time also to get a more accurate view from where the observation deck portion will be within the tower.
  9. It’s accurate. I took off from where the bottom of the orange construction fence is surrounding the hole and went up 125 feet according to the height scale on the DJI drone screen. Notice the scale of the mid-rises in the West End and how the Homewood Suites (150 feet) is still taller:
  10. Took my drone up approximately 125 feet from the site and this was the view:

  12. They’re not building next to it. Site plan shows a Whataburger restaurant and adjacent corporate office space for them at the current TGIF location: https://greenvillesc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/27495/24-0241-S-24-241-Public-Notice-Posting
  13. Stir announced for Prisma building renovation at 300 East McBee Avenue: https://www.stircharlotte.com They have locations in Raleigh, Knoxville and Chattanooga also.
  14. Sadly I am in the same boat. I ate there for dinner a few months ago and was not impressed. I don’t like how it’s one big open space with no walls. It’s just weird and definitely creates a noise issue inside. Dare I say I actually liked Liberty Tap Room more and kind of miss it.

  16. Construction to start early next year I guess. Must have got pushed back due to the sewer project and permitting: https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/business/hilton-tempo-hotel-west-end-development-pinnacle-partnerships/article_a39ea4d2-0889-11ef-a122-1f5515c4f97e.html
  17. I looked at the topography GIS maps from Greenville County and both sites (Main Street side for Landmark/Daniel building) are right around 985 feet in elevation. They’re literally neck and neck.

  19. Demolition has started on the strip shopping center next to United House of Prayer. The decorative street lighting is now being installed along Traction Street.
  20. Demolition about to start on former art gallery. Dumpsters in the parking lot.
  21. We ever going to hear anything about all of these secret mixed use developments the city council keeps having executive sessions about?
  22. A major project on the horizon in the village is Woven on Pendleton Street, on the west side of the commercial district between Saco and Traction streets. The mixed-use development will include commercial space for retail, restaurants and art galleries along with 214 residential units — 20% of which will be affordable housing. A pocket park and a parking garage with between 36 and 50 spaces available to the public will also be created. Brian Schick, a development partner with Woodfield Development, said new construction drawings will be completed by the end of May. The project is expected to be under construction by the end of the summer or early fall depending on the city’s permitting process. It is expected to take a little over two years to complete. 23. The Vardry Residences is an upcoming development in Greenville’s West End near Fluor Field and the planned Trueline Music Venue. There have been some updates to this development since the last check in. The project will now include 26 condos and 133 hotel rooms. The condos will range from 1,500 square feet to 4,000-plus square feet. The retail space will total about 9,500 square feet including two food and beverage spaces — one restaurant and one cocktail bar. The development will no longer have a pool deck. Instead, the space previously allotted for a pool will be an outdoor terrace. Kyle Keene of Keene Development Group said construction should begin in the fall at the latest, with the hope being for late summer.
