  1. Some stills from the video. Bonus: zoom in on the south ground level, which is hard to figure out. It appears to be a carport/drop area on Almond Street? Just a guess.
  2. It's odd that Note 16's "active uses" (lobby and fitness center) face Horton instead of 16th, which has the garage wall. The huge staircase looks ridiculous. I'm also surprised that metro's planning department allowed this awful design. I'd be curious to know their reasoning.
  3. In the Nov 21 permit report, there's a $400K permit for a restaurant at 300 James Robertson Pkwy. What is this?
  4. That development is called Cadence. Crescendo is Travis Kelty's project on the current Myer's Flooring site on Division Street.
  5. Surely the Sub Stop had been offered retail space in the building. That space is so in need of an overhaul anyway, it would be an upgrade.
  6. There's all kinds of new Skyhouse info in here - floor plans, new renderings, etc. http://www.nashville.gov/mc/pdfs/zoning/2014_calendar_year/bl2014_898_site_plan.pdf
  7. Regarding parking. If you look at the close-up rendering, the glazing below the orange "notch" has a slightly different appearance. I believe parking will be located on the floors below. This was more obvious in the first Sheet Music images.
  8. It appears the historic buildings will be scrapped, correct?
  9. I stopped by the Trust Development open house on Scovel Street. It's very nice, and the views from the 3rd floor and roof are impressive. I will definitely consider Trust when ready to purchase my next home in the area. Only complaint - at that price, I would expect hardwood floors in the entire house. Otherwise, I like everything about these homes.
  10. This mentions a potential Edition Hotel for the Gulch. http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2014/10/20/175838/04/hotels/Music_to_Our_Ears%3A_An_Ace_and_an_Edition_May_Be_Coming_to_Nashville
  11. Keep in mind that the hotel design would have be approved by at least a few metro agencies. I'd expect something more like the Omni, as far as style and street activity, rather than a hotel airport.
  12. If I remember correctly, 4th Avenue, south of the ball park, is supposed to be lined with retail. That would include the state parking garage.
  13. There was some activity on/around the Ace Hotel property this week. Crews were removing stuff from the 4th Ave. "Embers" entrance, and it looks like construction activity in the vacant retail space next to Which-'Wich, which I don't believe is part of the hotel.
  14. Regarding the Peafowl image - The chain link fence and parking lot are already there, according to Google Street View. They are actually making the parking lot a bit smaller to accommodate the outdoor space that connects the restaurant spaces. It's a small lot, really. In Germantown it's a major advantage for the development to have some dedicated parking.
  15. Nashville is at the top of the list because so much money has already been spent. That's kind of unfortunate since the design was completed so long ago, and makes it seem less likely that a full redesign would happen. I wonder if they've completed final construction drawings for the Graves design. I'd much rather see a SoBro type apartment building on this land, with some cool retail/restaurant space on 8th Ave and Church Street. That would be transformative in a way the courthouse will never be.
  16. According to the metro development tracker, it seems there's movement on the KVB roundabout art installation. It's case number 2014M-003OT-001.
  17. I wish they would use an updated version of Signature rather than the 505 design.
  18. It appears there are no stoops or street-fronting entries to the units. Perhaps that was bnabreakers point. If so, he is correct. The planning department typically prefers an active use in similar situations.
  19. Here's the site plan for the LC Germantown project, between 1st and 2nd Avenues North. It appears to be somewhat unique, in that a new street will weave its way between several buildings. Note that there is no 1st Avenue here; rather there are railroad tracks and the greenway where 1st would be. The site is currently storage for scores of semi trailers. As someone mentioned before, this is directly adjacent to Metro Materials, which is a very messy/dusty and loud operation. http://maps.nashville.gov/MPC/2014/111314/2014SP-081-001_plan.pdf
  20. It doesn't seem to include that lot, just the L&C garage. If the garage is in decent condition, I could see a new development at the NE corner incorporating the existing garage. That might not be feasible from an engineering standpoint, though. A developer who purchases the garage with intent to redevelop could, hopefully, consider purchasing the corner lot and include it. It's an excellent site. Commerce street is a bit depressing the further West you go, but the potential is there. This photo from the 1970's shows how the street was at that time, past it's prime but still lined with storefronts on several blocks. You can see the lot and garage at the far right of the image. I believe the building near the corner [facing 5th] housed a theater, but I forget the name of it. [Photo from Nashville Digital Archives]
  21. That is not the L&C garage. Instead, it's the building to the left of the yellow area in the above image.
  22. Stacks on Main/6th & Main: http://www.stclairholdings.com/new-projects-st-clair-apartments/
  23. It appears 505CST has legs. http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/blog/real-estate/2014/10/giarratana-seeks-metro-aid-to-build-nashvilles.html
  24. A permit was approved Friday for someone to combine Viridian penthouse units 1, 2 and 4 into one unit. Apparently, someone with lots of money.
  25. If you look at the overhead google satellite view, most the homes on the block have a similar setback.
