  1. Wow - funny. I usually have the exact opposite experience.
  2. I agree. I think they need to think about branching over to Spring St. or something. If anything bad would have happened in the crowd, there would have been a very unsafe stampede.
  3. Wow - I was just there on Friday night. Had no idea. I have to admit the food quality had gone down. But, I used to love going to the breakfast buffet on Saturdays before they shut that down.
  4. I personally think it's kinda cool looking, but, in any case, I certainly don't agree with this: I think it looks both high quality and has high visual appeal. Also hope it spurs some more development in this area. The poor Brio is kind of marooned.
  5. Art in the Park 2008 is this weekend - at Fluor Field for the first time. Link
  6. Wow! I love it. That will be very distinctive on that corner.
  7. Hey, I live in the city and hate sprawl as much as the next girl - but, where are the details on this development? If it is done right and they preserve the house, then we'll see. If you have specifics you'd like to share, then by all means, please do so.
  8. What a shame. Isn't that where that beautiful, historic house is?

I also think it is just the tiles - DPC agenda
  10. I think the point was that no SC cities ended up on the list. I noticed there were a lot of states that didn't have any in the list including (GA, AL, MS, AR, KY).
  11. American Eagle is cutting their flight from GSP to O'Hare. Link to Gville News article.
  12. It is funny how some people are so passionate about their doughnuts! I admire your loyalty, linkerjpatrick!
  13. I had no idea that shoplifting was such a huge problem. This explains why in some stores (Venti and Ayers are the worst) I often have an employee tailing me throughout the store. Makes my shopping VERY uncomfortable. I don't THINK I look shifty. Anyhow, this explains the reasoning.
  14. I've been a couple of times this season, and I think the crowds are larger this year than in years past. In fact, I'm not sure that the Piazza Bergamo could have contained the number of people that the event is getting this year!
  15. I would think that now is a buyer's market for almost any home.
  16. I personally haven't been happy with the shows that the BiLo center has been pulling in. I live in the city within walking distance of the BiLo center but often have to go to Clemson to see bands I like. Guess it is just a matter of taste. I also would like for the BiLo center to step up and meet this competition.
  17. BiLo Center is getting ready to get some competition from the Simpsonville ampitheater - Gville News Article
  18. Just a disclaimer... I pulled the "Starting at $900/month" figure off of Apartmentfinder.com. I personally don't know what these rent for.
  19. I just don't buy it. These apartments are on the higher end of the spectrum, rent-wise (1 BR start at $900) and are marketed as "luxury". Despite that, both reviews on apartmentratings.com complain about noise. Not sure these were constructed as well as they could be and the designers could have done better. I think they cheaped out.
  20. I liked the brick on the former design better!
  21. Searched, but haven't seen this one yet... There is a new 5 unit development going in on Townes (between Park and Stone) called Craftsman Court. Looks pretty nice. They already have people out there working. Craftsman Court link.
  22. If anything, I dislike these apartments more and more everytime I see them. The Publix/Staples development is well done. But, even with heavily planted trees, I do not think the apartment complex will age well. I hope that time proves me wrong, but currently I think these are a huge eyesore. I am sorely disappointed with this design.
  23. Dined at Tako-Sushi last night. We had a variety of sushi and southwest dishes around the table. The food was fine, but the service was not. Normally, service complaints are due to inattention from the wait staff. In our case, our waiter bugged us to bits! If the place hadn't only been half-full I would have absolutely thought that he was trying to quick-turn his table. He came by literally every 2-3 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. Mind you, our group hadn't seen each other in a while and were trying to catch up with one another. After our food came our waiter totally cleaned up the table including the soy sauce and condiments, except for the person who hadn't finished - making her feel like she'd better hurry up. Within seconds (no exaggeration) of her putting down her chopsticks, her plate was removed. It was unbelieveable. I'm not sure if he thought he was being ultra-efficient but it only made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Hopefully, someone more experienced at waiting tables gives him some pointers...
  24. I also heard that rumor - my rumor said Bloom.
