Went to see the Pushers at Nauticus tonight and got a picture of the Wisconsin lit up.

So nice to see Harbor's Edge with Towers 1 and River Tower,  plus CHKD and EVMS in the background.  Such an impressive sight, day and night,  especially as you are coming down the W. Brambleton Bridge.

I grew up in the Church right down the street from First Baptist St. John's AME church.

You still check this forum? Highly unlikely, but to put your unanswered question to rest, your 10 years from then was 6 years ago for us lol. Let me just say you would be very happy with how Downtown looks now.

Hence the reason why Tidewater Garden residents have (valid) reservations about SPQ. At least the city is doing a lot better handling that one.

yo......the way homeboy was just chilling in the chair when they were asking him the question just screams "it is what it is....we saw an opportunity to get rich folks back to Norfolk and we jumped on it."

I remember the demolition of East Ghent.  It's still seared in the memory of many Norfolk residents to this day.  The callous attitude of the city employee speaks volumes to why many Tidewater Gardens residents don't trust the motives of the city today.

What the hell was wrong with Norfolk back then. We destroyed our own damn city and decided to slap "renewal" on it. If  destroying the city was "renewal", then ill be damned! The firebombing of Tokyo and the Nuking of Hiroshima must have been  "urban rejuvenations"!

Snapped a few Downtown Norfolk pictures after the annual Town Point Park Wine Festival.

Walked around downtown Norfolk and downtown Richmond earlier in the week I have to say I saw a lot more people on the streets in downtown Norfolk.  

I will post a separate post about all the historical buildings downtown many converted to apartments and so forth along Granby St. where I found a place to eat lunch since the all the places in Waterside were bars (no liquid lunch for me) or full sit-down restaurants.  Waterside needs to have more quick serve restaurants like it did long ago.

Love all these historical older buildings along Granby that have been converted to other uses mainly apartments.   Not all older buildings but good mix in this part of downtown.
