IMHO The QC is so much more than the skyline, but the skyline certainly  represents the overall city quite well.

Was down in Ballantyne and drove up Southpark area.  Charlotte is really a beautiful city.  Our trees are gorgeous this time of year.  Some times living here you don't know what you have but I travel alot and our city is just beautiful.  Check some of these out: 

1.2.  Blue Ridge Parkway.  Nope Rocky River Road in Harrisburg. 

Rest of the photos in and around Ballantyne and south Charlotte.      New 11 story Overlook office tower in Ballantyne.

More like Retro Photo of the Day.  I was at an older local business and happened to come across this framed picture.  

For those who are newer to the city, this skyline shot was in the mid 90s.  How much has changed in 25+ years.

As a kid I thought walking through from the Wachovia parking deck (near Mimosa Grill) to the stadium through huge parking lots was a really far way away. The entire route is now highrises. That was less than 20 years ago!

Thanks for sharing.  Pretty amazing how your shot angle was near identical.  Would love to have an updated shot when the Duke Energy Plaza is finished so I can have it printed as a photo and mount it on my wall.

I had a great day in the metropolis of the Carolinas.

 

and then back to Chapel Hill at the end of the day..,

A vibrant metropolis and a pristine college town within a two hour drive is a very appealing aspect of the Tar Heel state.

Great photos! I can't get over how much the first pic doesn't even look like Charlotte. If not for the Lowe's mid-rise that could be Boston or Philly. The historic edge is awesome!!

The Westside is the Best side for skyline views I think.  Check these out from FreeMoreWest area.  and a couple from Southend too.  Today.   It is getting really hard to get the entire uptown skyline in one shot much less Southend anymore I don't have a wide angle lense.
