There is a "for lease" sign in the window of the current Avenue sales office. I wonder if they will have an office in Avenue.

The sales center will be in 222 S. Church St. (this is the existing office building that Novare owns)

You know, I was just going to ask what was going on *yesterday*. As I walked by at 3:30pm, there was a pop-up tent with a banner hanging inside, a folding table, some stuff spread out on the table, and half a dozen people in non-construction attire. I wondered if it wasn't the ground-breaking or an open-site sales event, or something.

No sign of the tent or anything else this morning.

Hmm. I like the new rendering of the office tower, but preferred the older version of the residential tower. It just had a more gothic-y feel to it. Still, I like this version too. But just not as much.

This is too plain. The other rendering was wonderful. The first rendering was probably too expensive to actually build.

After comparing past projects of theirs to this new rendering, expect Catalyst to turn out like The Gallery in Atlanta.

While this design looks a little less gothic, I wasn't a huge fan of how little glass was in the original rendering. I do hope they end up using a different shade of blue than Trademark, WB, and Avenue. It's a beautiful color, but having too much of the same color in the skyline seems like a bad idea.

I'm assuming this tower will be more symmetric front to back than Trademark and Avenue so we won't have to deal with there being a backside facing the stadium.

Novare really moves fast. While walking by the site yesterday I noticed they already have 2 Tower Crane bases built with the blue steel trusses sticking a good 10 ft out of the ground. On the right side of the pic below you can see one of the crane bases.

wow i really dont like the office tower... i hope that it looks better then that, right now to me it looks like a off the highway office building with a huge parking lot around it

I think the office tower could have more creativity put into it, but it's not that bad to me personally. It fits in with the "Charlotte style" just well.

That view will look pretty cool once they have the cranes up. That'll be how many? 6 cranes in that shot not including cement cranes. And then there'll be the One Charlotte Cranes and Trump if they break ground before Catalyst is finished.

I don't think the office tower needs to be spectacular. I mean, it won't be noticeable from the skyline at all. It won't even be visible from two blocks away considering the size of the towers almost all the way around it. There is no need for it to be gaudy in any way if it isn't tall enough to stand out.

This site, three buildings, will be a bit unique, as the parking for Catalyst will not be under the building, but next to it. Same for 12 I believe, which then means that there are actually 4 buildings, Cayalyst, 12, Office Tower, and parking garage to serve all three.
