Richmond dot com reports on activities and related details about tonight's FIRST FRIDAY along the Broad//Marshall/Grace Street corridor between Belvidere Street on the west and 9th Street to the east.

http://www2.richmond...-first-fridays/

I wish I were there tonight to see all the lively activities downtown.

I notice the writer of this story, Christina Newton, refers to a Miller & Rhoads exhibit at "the newly renovated Hilton Garden Inn."

Has there been "renovation" in this hotel which opened only two years ago?:shades:

Many high rises will be etched in light. Will the newest one, Williams Mullen, decorate itself?

From yesterday's River District News blog:

And Church Hill will light up on December 10th, 11th and 12th with lots of yuletide activities:

More than 16,000 runners from 47 states and 16 countries will be racing around the city and suburbs this weekend in three different, but related, marathons.

Here is everything you could possibly need to know, unless you're pondering how to drive from Point A to Point B.

Barksdale and Theatre IV will be presenting the Irving Berlin musical WHITE CHRISTMAS beginning this Friday, November 19th for 47 performances at the historic Empire Theatre on West Broad between Adams and Jefferson Streets in downtown Richmond.

The production will close on January 9th in 2011.

And a special treat for those familiar with the former White Dog Restaurant in The Fan will be the return to show business of Barry Pruitt who will be appearing in a featured role.

The Rock musical RENT may not have had enough exposure in Richmond with three or four productions having been presented locally or by National touring companies.

Now the University of Richmond is mounting the show this week in the comfortable and attractive Jepson Theatre on campus.

If you're into model railways you've got one day left to see the exhibit in the rotunda of The Science Museum of Virginia.

The museum, appropriately enough, is in Richmond's former Union Station. The grand classical building is on West Broad between Robinson Street and Davis Avenue, 2 blocks east of The Boulevard.

Check out this great video from today's RTD:

In addition to everything else going on downtown, tonight is the monthly FIRST FRIDAY celebration.

The Hilton Garden Inn which occupies the old Miller & Rhoads Department Store building will be illuminating its street level windows with holiday scenes.

You can watch a rehearsal of THE NUTCRACKER at Richmond Ballet's Studio Theatre before it officially opens a run at Richmond Center Stage.
