Too bad RI couldn't land a big-time corporate tenant or HQ for this parcel. a nice 250-300 foooter hear would really 'book-end' downcity from several vantage points...

Yea, that image has been floating out there for over a year or so now.... it would be nice to see something start happening on that parcel, preferably at least the height of citizens

I found this while trying to find more info on 110W. I can't say for certain it's the same project, but how many triangular parcels in downtown Providence can there be?

Glad to hear that that's a defunct design, it just looks like the mall.

The Westin's already booking groups in Fall for the 564 rooms, many of which are in conjunction with Hilton since we're both Procaccianti properties. The Renaissance is expected to gobble up all of the transient corporate travelers in the city which is a goodsize chunk of business in Providence.

The whole over saturation thing doesn't seem too unreasonable when you think about the number planned, proposed, etc. You can only support so many upscale and luxury hotels. You need some cheap digs and an extended stay option too.

I'm now into the category of not needing any more hotel rooms in Providence for a while too. That doesn't lessen the need to have this parcel developed into something prominent as a sort of cornerstone structure that links the rivers, the east side to downcity, etc., etc.
