Wow, these are all amazing photos. Greenville is an absolutely gorgeous city. I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. I do have one question though. I recently moved to Orlando from Charlotte and in both places I would occasionally try to sneak to the roof of a downtown parking deck to get a few snapshots only to be escorted off the property by security. Quite swiftly I might add. One time I actually had two security guards make me delete any pictures I had taken before they got to me. Now, I've noticed a few shots of your fair city taken from atop parking decks. Do you guys not get harrassed or asked to leave? I know it's a random question, but it's a little hard to fathom being allowed to take photos such as these without being treated like a law breaker. Anyway, keep posting the great pics and I'll continue to check out the sights.

Welcome go-vertical :D

Thanks for the compliments!

The parking decks you are referring to here in Greenville are public parking decks. I've never been harrassed for being at the top level of one.

I've never had any problem taking photos from atop the Sun Trust parking deck next to Church Street in Orlando.

But as NYT has stated, there is a wonderful grouping of Public Parking Garages here in Downtown Greenville:

I've never been harassed for taking photos from any of these. :shades:

Anyone know the history of this?

I was in the South Carolina room of the main Library over the weekend and stumbled upon the history of this. The steps to the left led up to the old Furman University, and the grotto is actually a spring house where they would collect fresh water.

A little FYI :D
