I have only been to Chi-Town once, and I was too young to truly appreciate the massive urban jungle. It would be nice to go back for a visit.

Nate, you flew to Chicago. How much was a plane ticket? How many hours does it take to drive up I-55?? Just curious.

I was gone for 4.5 days; Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and 1/2 of Wednesday.

I took about 650 pictures in Chicago, and based off of what I've seen of them so far, I'm very happy!

And BTW Richy, I actually drove on up to Chicago. Normally, I wouldn't have thought twice about just flying, but I was worried about getting back to New Orleans the day before Thanksgiving. I've had problems with day-before flights before, and didn't feel like even having to worry about it while I was up in Chicago. Also, I thought it would be nice to drive through some parts of the country that I either hadn't seen in years, or had never seen at all.

If you took I-57 through Illinois, that means you went right through Champaign-Urbana, where my father-in-law lived until just a few months ago. A very nice college town, home of the University of Illinois Fighting Illini!

Yep, I took I-57 up to Chicago, and went right through Champaign-Urbana. However, you would never know that the Champaign area has more than 1,000 people from driving through in I-57. I guess most of the population in that area is far off from the interstate.

^Yep, once you hit Kankakee, the drive really picks up. It's a pretty drastic change, because suddenly all of that open farm land turns into subdivisions and mid-rises, and the interstate traffic begins to pick up quite a bit as well.
