ODU moves into The Siegel Center tonight (Saturday, January 21st) to take on the VCU Rams before a 13th consecutive sell-out crowd.

Thursday's game with William and Mary was a nail biter and tonight's matchup should sparkle with energy. You can watch it locally on Comcast at 8PM, but unfortunately, it won't be nationally televised.

VCU smashes ODU with a 13-point margin of victory, 61-48, at an electric, sold out Siegel Center. From what I was listening on 107.3 (RamRadio) I could just hear the fans screaming in the background. I haven't been inside the Stu since last season's victory over Northeastern in January, I believe. Hopefully I can see a game at the Stu and more importantly, the Final Four banner, the ESPY, and the SW Regional Champion trophy and #6 coaches poll banner as well, and Final Four rings.

And.... VCU busts up Hofstra's "pride" with a 12 point win, 61-49, at a 14th consecutively sold out Siegel Center, still in the run with 5 other colleges for most active sellout streak in the country with big league teams like Duke, Kansas State, Gonzaga, and even Kansas, who as all Ram Nation fans know as the ones we thrashed on our infamous run to the Final Four

Note how well VCU's defense has been playing as well.... our agressive pull ends up forcing more than 17 turnovers per game. Hopefully our committed RamNation continues to buy tickets and sell out for the year. But of course, before i can jinx anything, I'll shut right up. :scared:

And VCU's next game is against Towson at Towson Center in Maryland. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. I'll try and see if its broadcast on Comcast SportsNet or ESPNU.

Damn Verizon FiOS doesn't have Comcast Sports Southeast... so I can only listen to it live on 107.3 Ram Radio..... anyone else listening/watching?

VCU defeated William & Mary last night by a score of 87-78 and is tied with George Mason and Drexel for 1st spot in the CAA.

Saturday night's 7 PM game at The Segal Center against Northeastern will be the Rams' 14th consecutive sell-out. If you have a ticket, be sure to wear white because it's "white-out" affair.

My favorite Richmond basketball writer tells all about the squeaker last night between Northeastern U and VCU at the sold-out Siegel Center. The Rams finally took it by 59-56.

And I was there as well, and the game was very much electric and better in person. And I FINALLY saw the Siegel Center since (coincidentally) the last year game against Northeastern before the legendary run. I didn't see the ESPY or the SW Regional trophy, but I did see the large Final Four exhibit on the wall in place of the exhibit commemorating the first game ever played at the Stu. I hope they didn't get rid of that, though. I also did see that banner (coaches poll and Final Four  ). Also I missed about the first 7 minutes of the game due to the headache parking.... apparently if you didn't have a "decal", you couldn't park in that deck across from the Stu where I always used to park.... so I ended up parking on the side of a street a few blocks away, right in front of this "Biggs" place and water tower. If I can configure Urban Planet's headache tools, I'll post (some of the many) pics that I took at the game. :good:

Could a new ballpark be in place by 2015? :yahoo:

Ballpark Nutz, a new advocacy group says so. They also mention quite well known topics to the Richmond area, namely regional cooperation and funding.... :o

Tonight's game between VCU and Towson is expected to be the sixteenth consecutive sell-out at The Siegel Center.

There are limited tickets for the BracketBuster game against Northern Iowa on February 17th, and the February 25th matchup between VCU and George Mason is completely sold out.

It's likely all 14 of The Ram's home games will have been sell-outs by the end of the regular season.

The VCU Rams defeated the ODU Monarchs today in their own building -- 68-64 -- and remain in a tie for first place in the CAA.

Yes, quite a nerve-racking battle that was!! I was literally jumping up and down when VCU knocked down those treys! And the fact that we've beat them at their home court makes it even more exciting! Sadly, afterwards I went to the Robins Center (using Press Pass tickets by RTD) and watched the Spiders get knocked down by George Washington at the last few seconds. It was also at that point that my wife (who stayed at home) texted me saying Whitney Houston had passed away.... talk about adding insult to injury.... But still, I hope VCU holds on to that 1st place title! The CAA tourney is literally a few weeks away! :)
