Finally steel beams rise from the ground!

The steel beams appear to rise 3 stories which is 1/3 the way up. Its going to be a pretty tall 9-story building. The ceiling height on each floor will be taller than your typical building in downtown Greensboro. Looks like its going to be the equivalent of an average 11 or 12 story building

Artist rendering of baseball themed crosswalk at the intersection. Also a generic block building across the street which will be the site of Carroll's 20-story office tower. And a 9 story Aloft hotel and 6 story apartments over retail will be next to that.  The intersection will resemble a baseball field and have statues of baseball players at each base including a statue of the former mascot dog Yogi.

Took better photos today and there is definitely digging activity on the 8 story parking deck site across the street where Roy Carroll's development is going.

 

Probably should start calling it by its real name "400 Bellemeade" instead of Project Slugger. The tower will house the Triad regional headquarters for First National Bank and other offices and law firms.

I believe it went back up to the original 9 stories.  Given the fact that the height between the floors will be larger than normal (especially on the bottom floor), we'll probably see this rise about 120-140 feet.

Yes the final height went back up to 9 floors. In addition its going to be a pretty tall 9 story building with the higher than usual ceilings on each floor even for an office tower. The height will be equivalent to a typical 11 or 12 story building and will appear taller from the lower seating bowl of the stadium than from the street. Also while the building will have 9 floors, the roof angles up to really about 10 stories.

Each floor is 1 1/2 story give or take. So around 12 stories when it tops out.

Speaking of which, they are raising steel for the next two floors which puts it at 5 floors. Looks pretty tall for 5 floors.

Floor 6. Going up fast. Some pics from some new angles included. At this rate the steel will top out to 10 stories  in less than 2 weeks

In the first photo you can see all the construction fencing put in place for the 8 story city parking deck and Carroll's South of the ballpark project. Looks like they are putting the steel in place by floors of 3s. Really soon we will see steel rise to the 9th floor.

The building is starting to top off with the slope which really pushes the building to 10-stories. The tower is clearly visible from the front of the performing arts center.

Looks like the land is starting to get cleared for Carroll's office tower and Aloft Hotel site as well.

Yeah. Now the outfield grassy berm has the best view. You can still see all the towers along with 400 Bellemeade from that spot.
