“The UCF Knights Men's Soccer program, led by Head Coach Scott Calabrese, is ready to kick off the 2022 season. The Knights, coming off of a 9-8 campaign in 2021, missed the NCAA Tournament after advancing to the 2nd round in 2020. If UCF is to make some noise in their final year in the AAC, Senior Forward Gino Vivi will have to be a key contributor again this season. The Knights will be moving into the Sun Belt Conference for soccer in 2023.”

I still think it’s weird the Big XII doesn’t do men’s soccer.

Coach Gus Malzahn and his wife Kristi donate $250,000 to the Knights’ Mission XII fundraising program. It will be used in the completion of McNamara Cove. Talk about walking the walk - we’ve had some coaches just passing through in the last few years - dang it feels good to have believers at the Bounce House again.

Also, Addition Financial is signing up for another dozen years at the A+ Arena, and their contribution is increasing.

It looks like John Rhys Plumlee may have the leadership quality KZ had and DG never did:

Seminole High plays Osceola tonight and guess who shows up? Our very own Gus Malzahn - Welcome to the “State of Orlando”!

“No. 1 Seminole (1-0) at No. 2 Osceola (1-0), 7 p.m. Seminole, also No. 1 in the FloridaHSfootball.com 4M (Metro) state rankings, looks to extend its road game winning streak into a seventh season with a victory in Kissimmee. The ‘Noles won 38-10 two years ago when these power programs faced off for the large-class state championship at Tallahassee’s Doak Campbell Stadium. Sentinel staff writer J.C. Carnahan, who is in Kissimmee to cover this slobber-knocker, reports that UCF head coach Gus Malzahn is in the audience. One of the Knights prized recruiting commits is huge Osceola defensive lineman John Walker (6-3, 310) and it’s likely Malzahn and his staff can take a peak at others from these two power programs. Seminole plays without wide receiver Darren “Goldie” Lawrence, an FSU commit who was suspended by the FHSAA for last week and this week due to an unsportsmanlike conduct infraction in spring jamboree play last May. “

It’s so incredible that our coaches (including the HC himself) get how important this is.
