interesting.  A Chinese colleague of mine was working on bringing a Chinese-affiliated company or presence to NEO-CITY ten years ago but the deal was nixed by the Feds.  He was p!ssed.  Nevertheless, this is a good momentum builder...

Celebrating anniversary, Osceola Heritage Park recalls journey to 20 years

Of note:  In it’s 20 year evolution, OHP now hosts annually:

- Orlando City B soccer 13 games and permanent location of Orlando City’s training facilities 

- Annual Mecum car show (now attracting 100k visitors! — I went this year and it’s now easily my favorite event in all of the e Orlando metro)

- Country Thunder festival

- FHSSA Wresting Championship

- Silver Spurs Rodeo (largest east of the Mississippi)

- Orlando Magic’s G league team the “Osceola Magic” (kicking off in Nov)

Not bad for the former Silver Spurs arena!

A developer is proposing a Hampton Inn & Suites and a retrofit of the outdated Kissimmee Civic Center adjacent to the Kissimmee Sunrail station.  The city commission is set to vote on the project in January.

Kissimmee has run out of new land -- all new development will now be considered redevelopment.  I personally think this is a best case scenario as the city can correct the mistakes made in past as it looks to the future.
