  1. And it was a Meyers-Arnold before that.
  2. Was it wading through the snow? ;-)
  3. Those are great - love that third one in particular! LJ
  4. Having lived off Fernwood-Glendale Road off and on since 1961 when it was a narrow 2-lane road, I sincerely hope no one takes that suggestion seriously.
  5. Love the botanicals but still think you should have come up here and camped out on Paris Mtn this weekend and gotten some winter shots! :-)
  6. Beautiful (and thank you!)! ;-)
  7. Mmmmm... Beautiful blue sky background for the bridge! :-) Jane
  8. I don't particularly like when you go all black and white, but those are pretty awesome, BR! LJ

    The Rumor Mill

Their third location was in downtown Charlotte. It closed a while back.
  10. Needs a paint job... :-) You certainly captured the spooky aspect!
  11. I haven't been there in several years, but once inside, you won't think about its location.
  12. It's been there longer than 23 years. I've eaten there for a company dinner - it was very good. Very small, intimate setting. Peter David's Fine Dining
  13. You guys are such snobs. I haven't been there in a while since I don't go into the office any more, but the one on Butler Road in Mauldin has (or used to have) good veggies at lunch. They were a better meat-and-three than Wade's.
  14. I remember reading something in the paper several years ago about them considering selling it. I guess I thought that had already happened. I hate to see them sell it off. All those trees probably help the air quality in the area.
  15. If RT and Ondrovic were to start competing to see who could post the most beautiful Low Country photos, it would be a sight to see!
  16. I saw that the other night just as I was about to turn in to pick up a hamburger. I hate that. It was quick, convenient and not chicken when I want something fast that I can eat in the car on my way somewhere. Do you know when it closed? When I was at the Fresh Market Wednesday night, I noticed that Subway had opened, though.
  17. Service Untitled, a blog about customer service, had an entry about Charlotte-Douglas on Friday. The writer was connecting flights there as he traveled to and from a conference in NOLA. It's a very positive article that starts off: "I spent Friday and Saturday in New Orleans for WordCamp NOLA and part of my traveling experience was going through the Charlotte International Airport to catch a connection flight (each way). I
  18. I really hope they're able to pull out of it. They're the only place that I can get canned crowder peas that don't have seasoning or fatback in them.
  19. Then Honey's was there for a while. Ummmm.... they had good breakfasts!
  20. It's off Locust Hill Road in Greer. It's kind of under the water tank. I've been there. It used to be burgers, hot dogs and a meat-and-three. The country-fried steak was yummy as I recall. Did they still have it on the menu?
  21. I did my part by eating lunch at Ike's today.
  22. I've been there three times, so far, and the food has been consistently good. Haven't tried the chicken, though, to see if it's good; I'm a steak person when I go out - I get enough chicken at home.
  23. Why? There wasn't one on the east side. I never can understand the uproar in here every time a new fast food restaurant opens. As long as there's a variety of restaurants, why does it matter? In the immediate vicinity of that new Taco Bell, I can think of several non-fast food places right off the top of my head: Garner's, the Four Seasons, Ruby Tuesday's, Monterey's, New China, the place next to Monterey's (can't remember the name right now - Hickory Tavern, maybe?), Vern's. I like variety of all kinds, and sometimes that includes a drive-thru.
