  1. I read that also. It seems as though the city is starting to wake up to reality and realize they must annex for the city to grow.It also said that The City of Columbia annex more than double that of last yr. So maybe all of s.c. cities will get on board and something can be done about the previous annexation law.
  2. Those are some nice pictures of Columbia's skyline. Some of the views are breath taking....Notice how the Bank of America tower always seem to get left out.
  3. I don't think they can take being the 6th largest city in s.c.....lol
  4. I agree I wish we had better seafood restaurants or a bigger selection to choose from. I love captin George on Knox Abott Dr. And the shrimper closed down because the owner wasn't paying his taxes. I said this before but I would love for columbia to open a Hymn's or something similar to the one in Charleston. I really don't care too much for the Charleston Crab House and I'm Red Lobstered out Has anything replaced Spinnakers yet???

You have a point but what does white kids going to Hammond or Heathwood has anything to do with kids missing out of the Canalside promo?????
  6. The view would be a killer if it ever lifts off the ground. It's in great walking distance from everything and accessible from I-26.

They are really trying to put this in high gear!!! I like the ideal and I think Columbia will be one of the first cities to use alternate power. In the article it even states that the city buses will use hydrogen fuel cell. This is the perfect time to capitalize off of something like this. Columbia is going to be only city with a fuel cell district strecthing 2miles in it's downtown radius turning Columbia into a hub for hydrogen fuel cell. Innovista is going to be huge!!!!
  8. Wow, that's great news to have so many homegrown talent taking a shot at the big screen. Wish them luck!!!!!
  9. Thats' great news for Columbia!!!! Once you start getting recognition such as this you can defintely look for more opportunities for the Metro area.Nice to see 4 carolina cities listed.

Has anyone noticed all the cranes south of main!!! Wow Columbia is starting to look really impressive
  11. 5pts is just that area with so much potential to stretch it's boundaries. Residential high rises will be a + for this area. Can't wait to the vista is completely developed and has the same opportunities that 5pts have except residential high rises because the height restrictions killed that. I would love to see a late night Movie theather developed in 5pts.
  12. It doesn't really say but the article is pertaining to Lake Murray. It's in the new Free Times
  13. Seems as though lexington is one of the fastest growing counties and least progressive from mass transit to this!!!! Columbia is it's on island.
  14. On another note Lexington Co passed new height restriction laws recently. We will never see any condo high rise of any sort near Lake Muarry they made sure of that.
  15. Does anyone knows what's going up on Huger St. on the right off I-26 where you can go straight or to Elmwood or you can bare right on Huger, right before the bellsouth building. There was a lot for sale for the longest and know it has a big sign that says "SOLD". I know that's prime real estate property and something is going there. Does anyone know????
  16. I wish Columbia could get a Hymn's Seafood Restaurant. I just love the one that's in Charleston!!!!!! The food there is excellent and it's a well known restaurant in that area.

Are towers still being added to the CanalSide Development? After going over the redering I did't see anything that looked like a tower. The site's rederings are much better than the paper also.
  20. But the way Lexington County is growing in years to come the percentage rate will rise. I think Lexington County needs to think in the future. One day the bus routes will expand to the Lexington Court house. I think were just going to have to play this one out and see how everything goes.

I have to agree with you on this one I prefer parking decks. Parking lots are a waste of urban space.
  23. I read today in the new free times that a new strip mall similar in size to The Village Of Sandhills is going up on I-77 in NE.It will be located where the new Super Walmart site is going. The area is also going to have housing and business office village.
  24. I really don't understand it. I agree with you Krazeeboi charleston don't seem to have this problem. I never here anybody in Columbia say anything at all about Greenville. But believe every state has something like this going on. I know at one time D.C. and Baltimore had a big rivalry going on. Raleigh and Charlotte experience the same thing. So it's normal.
