  1. I wish GR (or even MI for that matter) could land some of those huge battery, semiconductor or battery plants. I know Michigan leaders kinda got an eye opener when that battery plant went to Ohio and not MI.
  2. Yeah I think it's going to be difficult to get U of M. As others have stated, they are pretty closely connected with Detroit and are even constructing a new building in The District. Detroit has nearly double the percentage of tech jobs, a lot of people and companies move or expand there for that reason. It would be cool to see U of M in town, tech or medical, they have one of the best healthcare systems in the country, but I don't think it would happen. I think our best bet would honestly be GVSU, maybe MSU or WMU, but does Western have any GR campuses anymore?
  3. Did they specify the Northside? There's a lot of people leaving Cali, maybe companies will too? With WFH do you even need a physical headquarters? We do have one advantage over Columbus, we're not in Ohio.
  4. You're probably referring to all the other developers in the city, but would the DeVos' need an investor or lender? Seems like pocket change to me. Hell, it was projected they were going to spend $100 million this election.
  5. I heard in the past you can see the lake from the penthouses at River House. I have no idea if that is true or not though...
  6. haha, nah.. I have a lot of info about some of the bigger projects coming, but I'll keep all my future development info and renderings to myself. I wouldn't want to be narced on by the admins HAHAHAH
  7. It's going to look great! I have some awesome renderings of it.
  8. I was actually thinking the same thing. Padnos would be much better, especially with GVSU's endless parking. The current proposed location would be a lot better for "grabbing food and a drink before the game". I also can't imagine the amount of ground contamination on the Padnos site, but then again, it's the DeVos', so they'll figure out how to milk it.
  9. Heya folks, long time lurker, first time poster! So excited for this project! Please don't give up our "deep throat" @GRDadof3!!! . I don't think the person did it maliciously and obviously took everything down once they realized this wasn't meant to be public. From the MiBiz article it sounded like there were a lot of people working on it. Even if it's not a stadium, it sounds like the property will be redeveloped eventually. I'm glad the Kum N Go isn't happening and a little disappointed the planning commish was ready to green light it. That would would have never been redeveloped. I wonder what their other possible sites would be? The only thing large enough near downtown would be the Fulton/Market Parking lot or maybe Padnos? I really like the idea of this and the amphitheater, is there anyway they could combine them into one venue? Are there any Soccer Stadiums/Amphitheaters that exist? I know you could have Concerts at a soccer stadium, but would that be too awkward? Can't be any worse than playing football or hockey on a baseball field. I mean the $125M for each would give you a $250M budget and it empty less as often.
