  1. Wow! I love it! There's plenty of parking on Carrier too, cause you know people are going to beotch about parking. Great location, really, a nice walk to medical mile or North Monroe. Lots of dirt to move. I love how all of these underutilized lots are being repurposed for dense housing (Now do more on the NW side, please :))
  2. Looks like Meijer bought the CRC building and is going to relocate their gas station there. I bet they wish they could have bought it 10-15 years ago to relocate the store. It's a large parcel, just a little smaller than their store parcel. My guess it will be a gas station with the usual Meijer outlets
  3. I feel like this would do well here. Lacrosse is pretty big here and growing
  4. I only take people with blue hair seriously
  5. Very cool! I don't think anyone would have guessed Woodland would thriving and Rivertown would be near closing. Poor management vs. way better management. One company dumped money into their mall and got nicer stores while one did the bare minimum (or less).
  6. Ceremonial ground breaking is May 21st. They're on a tight deadline to make open for the 2026 season. I think we'll see this built quickly as long there are no material hold ups. Lots of work going on at the old county building too
  7. Yeah I've never heard any stellar reviews of this place, seemed like a pretty "meh" place that tourists and visitors would go to.
  8. Man, all those underutilized buildings north of this are going to go for a premium and hopefully we'll get some nice projects with mass. Douglas and Summer could also be easily vacated since they will be pretty much pointless.
  9. I had to look up rube, but yes, that is accurate lol 100%, reminds me of "old man yells at cloud".... "We want it like the 90s when Bridge St was crap with less traffic and more parking"
  10. I never really understood why we are below Toledo and Eerie, they seem like much smaller markets
  11. Yeah this is pretty awesome. The food truck thing would have been cool, but that would be better for Leonard or Wealthy, this area needs more density. I don't see any parking (yay!). I actually saw this first on "We Are Westsiders" on Facebook and the NIMBYs are going nuts lol. I'm glad the PC doesn't really take their insane opinions into consideration (anymore). Glad an out of town developer is actually (hopefully) getting things done.
  12. Found it! "Several large projects of regional significance" and " mixed-use development on the Fulton/Market site". Definitely something in the works...
  13. From the rumblings and hints I've heard, Acrisure is in the works for Fulton/Market. Also I'll have to find it, but a Mobile GR meeting agenda mentioned the amphitheater, soccer stadium and hundreds of thousands of square feet of new office space. I think it was 400k, none of this is confirmed, so don't get you're hopes up
  14. Great space to grab a beer before a futbol game!
  15. City offices are located all over the (mainly) downtown area, they would be so much better off selling their many properties and building a new, larger city hall. The ramp below is in pretty rough shape and can't even accommodate larger modern vehicles. Just raze that whole damn block with the fed and state buildings too. It's urban renewal crap, the layout sucks and it's empty almost all the time sans a few events... such a waste of space. We're not the GR of the 1960s anymore.
  16. That's awesome! I was hope Sun would do something with that portion after they cut down all the trees. Isn't the GRPS school near there slated to be closed? Probably some sweet views up there, I wonder if GR Parks has first dibs on the properties
  17. Very nice! I'm guessing this is going to looking over Muskegon Lake?
  18. Haven't they mentioned a few times that they are building this to be expandable? I would think that would mean seating behind the goals, although it may be too close to the Y. I'm not really a soccer fan, but I would probably go to a few games. Bridge street and tailgating would make for a fun day. The area will be busy and unfortunately there's no east/west way to access the site with it being between the river and RR. I think we'll start to see a lot more density and blocks of sub-par mainly college rentals razed, which I'm all for.
  19. I think they're going off of this: https://inspections.grcity.us/CitizenAccess/Cap/CapDetail.aspx?Module=Planning&TabName=Planning&capID1=24CAP&capID2=00000&capID3=0089O&agencyCode=GRANDRAPIDS&IsToShowInspection= Storefronts connect office, hospitality, and retail spaces of the west building to the streetscape in support of a healthy, walkable pedestrian experience. Architectural metal panel and burnished masonry walls clad internal support spaces including utility, commercial kitchen, and restroom spaces. The west building is three stories, containing the restaurant, team store, the majority of suites, and the press box. The east building is one story, containing locker rooms, team and official spaces, security, facility maintenance, utilities, and food and beverage storage I was confused about the "boating" thing too, but it comes right from this application
  20. Saw this SLU application for 662 LEONARD ST NW: Leonard is gaining even more steam!
  21. I really hope someone has some plans for the Adobe property. Honestly they should just demo that whole block. I think that's what we'll see in the future, it's mainly all rentals. Hopefully it's taller than four stories
  22. I think housing next is really trying to meet with townships to get their heads out of their asses, GR is at least trying to loosen the zoning. Some of the citizens of the burbs are delusional. There was a guy in the Walker PC agenda talking about how he moved to Walker 40 blah blah years ago for the peace and quiet and now it's not peaceful or quiet lol. There's also the people that move into a new subdivision and then get mad and complain when they build one right next to it. Is it like this all over the country? What we need are some BIG national home building companies to come in and build, but I wouldn't blame them for not even wanting to deal with these people
