Fairgrounds Speedway Racetrack expansion to 30,000 seats
Argo replied to markhollin's topic in Nashville
Interesting to see the reaction to this as opposed to the zeal to place a stadium in the Bordeaux neighborhood. Why the defending of the people in the fairgrounds vs Bordeaux. Do you folks deem those fairgrounds people more worthy? If so, why? Enquiring minds want to know.- 457 replies

Sorry. Doesn't wash. Irresponsible spending for the past two years put massive amounts of money into the system which devalued the dollar thus causing inflation to skyrocket. Thus causing interest rates needing to be raised to try and combat inflation. This class was free. You're welcome.
-
Welp, interest rates have just been hiked to their highest rates since 2001 and more hikes are to come this year and the next. Get ready for major tower developments to stall indefinitely or get outright cancelled.
-
Wow! Look at that chart. People are moving to the outlying counties by a 20 to 1 clip. The real estate agents all say the same as to why. Go head state of 10 A C! Woo!
-
Absolutely. Which is why the fourth office tower in Nashville Yards needs to get built at its current specification.

If this actually gets started, wonder if the people behind 800 Lea no longer feel the need for the Ritz Carlton to begin in order to get started.

Inner Loop - CBD, Downtown, East Bank, Germantown, Gulch, Rutledge
Argo replied to smeagolsfree's topic in Nashville
So Park Place, 11N, Albion Beaman, Vela Pietown, etc don't count? All other than Albion are bland, by the way. -

I don't see the inference. Most people of any city can't name one single building yet alone multiple buildings in the city. -

I wonder when the arcade will be finished then reopened. -

Agree. Kind of pathetic actually. I've noticed that this kind of nattering happens a lot when there are development news lulls. It's like the guys that check the forum 60 times a day get frustrated and resort to furiously caterwauling the tired glies baaahxes trope. -

It's interesting that you couldn't list any. You mean like L&C, TN Tower, Nashville City Center, Sheraton, Rennaisance, One Nashville, Cambria, Drury, ATT, Tennessean, Pinnacle 1, Pinnacle 2, Tri Brand Marriott, JW Marriott, Lea Apartments, Tempo, Graduate, USB, Fifth 3rd, SoBro, 505? PS. What city doesn't have so called boxes? What city doesn't have glass? What's wrong with either? Do you want a city full of beige buildings? Old concrete buildings? Enquiring minds want to know. Or are you just caterwauling? -
They have court cases to deal with first. Same with the other two nearby developments.

What happens when real grown ups are in the room. Think about all of the towers (especially office) that were scheduled to get built but now will never happen because of the adults in the room.
-
No telling how long that lot is just going to sit there empty.

Maybe not. Gas prices are about to go through the roof. The adults are in the room.
-
Let's all click our heels together and collectively say: "The adults are in the room", "The adults are in the room", "The adults are in the room".

In a way Nashville is fortunate. At least Peabody Union and most of Nashville Yards' towers got started before the dung hit the fan.

IF things ever get prosperous again and that's a supersized IF, Nashville will be an afterthought to the developers. They will have moved on to the next "happening" city. If Nashville is lucky a 90s type development pattern might happen (AT T). If Nashville is very lucky a 00s type development pattern might happen (Viridian, Pinnacle). There will be no more 10s type development patterns happening ever again.
