    The formality and activation of this street (or lack there of) seems to be at odds with the implicated grandeur of its alignment. Kinda wish we had something more like Madison's State St and surrounding neighborhood. Our beautiful capitol building seems rather cut off from the rest of the city

    What is the reason for this interchange? Is the mess of an interchange just up the road so bad that they have to add this huge interchange just to make the other one usable?

    It's encouraging that vehicles was listed last in that list of road uses. I really hope this spine is well designed and can serve as a model for what other streets in the city can become. Not many opportunities like this where you have a clean slate to do things the right way.

    Saw this too on the map and am all for it. Two lots across the street were looking to increase density as well but looks that that application was withdrawn? I know there is lots of griping on the neighborhood facebook group about the neighborhood changing, but Donelson Pike is a good place for increased density and development and Emery is a testament to that. That place is always busy even with only the one restaurant open.

    I'm sure it's been discussed before, but have there ever been plans/initiatives to redevelop this area east of downtown? If the Star could ever get the upgrades needed to add stations, I feel like this area would be ripe for development, especially with all the stuff already happening on Lebanon Pike to the west and east of here.

    The views from this are going to be prime and protected for the foreseeable future. Nothing is going be built at Ascend, nothing on the trolley barns, nothing on the power plant, and nothing on the river of course.

    This building has always just felt a little off to me. I think its the heaviness of the mass at the street sitting on these tiny setback chicken legs. Maybe one too many big design moves. Just overall a little bit off.

    I think it all has to do with schedule and scope of work. Been working on a project for the last couple years and the number of times they've dug up and filled the same spot seems wildly inefficient. But I'm no general contractor so what do I know.

    Looks ok, but why they put a hospital drop-off canopy on the roof?

    If you find the parking topic interesting, there's a recent Cautionary Tales podcast episode mostly about the Chicago parking meter blunder, but also has a lot of good info about parking in cities in general. Good listen while you are driving around looking for parking..

    After listening to the Freakonomics episode on roundabouts, I've been keeping an eye out for which intersections would be better as a roundabout. There are a lot that would be so more efficient as a roundabout and have the space to do it to boot.

    Should be recording data to see how well this functions as 4 traffic lanes. From those pictures, it looks like that third land isn't as needed as the engineers think it is

    Oh yeah! Look at all those beautiful car lanes. I bet you can get so many cars over that bridge at once. And they even had a few feet left over for people to enjoy walking next to fast moving cars!

    This rendering is like half roads. Seems like such and anti-urban rendering for such and urban project.

    I like the brick, but it feels a little unfinished. There is a suggestions of pilasters, so one would expect some kind of cornice, but I'm left feeling like he lost his hat and is looking a bit naked.

    I've been trying to keep track of all the food options coming in the near future and filling out the scene in Donelson. Here's some that I've been paying attention to.     I would be hard pressed to believe they are not using a laminated glass at that pool. So even if it does crack by some unforeseen circumstance, it wouldn't shatter and completely fail.

    They just did our neighborhood in Donelson and I thought it was relatively painless. It was pretty quick and they only dug out a few spots in my yard, seeding and covering when they were done. I'm just excited to have another option than comcast.
