  1. Would love to see more permanent traffic calming devices and bumpouts like this installation. Used to ride my bike through a similar solution on Lincoln Ave in Chicago and it dramatically shifted the feel of the intersection from car centric to pedestrian focused. https://www.site-design.com/lakeview-lincoln-avenue/
  2. Great resource! Would love to see a column for architect as well
  3. RIP Sub House. I miss those wonderful inexpensive maple donuts.
  4. I tend to prefer raising the first floor up about half a story. This is actually a pretty traditional characteristic of urban residential architecture. For example, if you visit any of the older urban residential neighborhoods in Chicago, you will see a lot of 2 flats and 3 flats with this raised first floor. It helps to visually anchor the building to the site, provide privacy for the residents inside, and also allows a garden story to be inserted under the first floor for more rental space or other ancillary spaces. I agree with you that it feels much nicer if there is be a more substantial porch at the top of the steps though.
  5. Thanks and glad to be here! Been lurking for a couple years so I figured I might as well get involved in some discussion.
  6. Was there ever a finished publication or proposal for the South Corridor Study? Was looking at their website but it looks like it hasn't been updated in almost 2 years.
