    A case where the renderings were so much more attractive then the final product. Another pseudo traditional beige and red brick apartment. It hugs the site nice is all I have to say.

    Nashville is really growing up that mid block projects like these are really happening. Very exciting.

    Sad that a Holiday Inn looks far better then the tri branded Marriott next door. Far far better.

    This is a pretty great project for what was considered the “worst” site in the former Gannett Property. Very impressive street activation on 11th. Church Street is going to be nuts.

    Can’t park on them. Helical ramps are expensive. The only reason to use them is that they save physical space.

    Planning has already approved the project. The NIMBY’s are fighting at the council level.

    Yes. I should have clarified, AEG does have a different design architect. Gresham is doing the residential, retail, and office spaces.

    HKS was the design architect on the Grand Hyatt. Gresham Smith is the design architect on everything else at Nashville Yards.

    Don’t mistake some people for “the people.” Amazon chose NYC for access to the greatest intellectual talent collection in the world. The incentives were a bonus. They only pulled out when it became absolutely toxic thanks to “the people” and some select politicians with ulterior motives. They already have a large presence there, now they will just grow more slowly instead of the huge infusion.

    It was not. It was a cost savings measure and the city allowed it to happen at our front door.

    If I was the operator of an under construction Grand Hyatt and the corporation announced a Park Hyatt five blocks away I’d be pretty peeved.

    I would surmise that he is being intentionally vague to allow for future flexibility.

    To each their own. To me that looks like an early 2000’s era design for a building that belongs Houston.

    ESA did a good job on this. Drury Hotels aren’t known for their aesthetics. This building feels like it belongs.

    It is just crazy. Looks like we will have most of Nashville Yards now in about 3 years.
