  1. Amazon wouldn't score at all because Raleigh is not on their radar.
  2. If they would have topped it off with a pool it would’ve been great.
  3. Raleigh, Austin, and Pittsburg aren’t happening.
  4. The first building is beautiful, but I thought it was 850ft?
  5. Hoping for a W, Loews, Fairmont, or JW. Charlotte is seriously lacking in the upscale hotel market.
  6. Raleigh, or anywhere in the Triangle, has absolutely no chance whatsoever at HQ2. If Amazon chose anywhere in NC, it will be Charlotte (for obvious reasons).
  7. Shake Shack is coming to Park Road by the end of the year.
  8. IHG also owns Kimpton Hotels and the InterContinental. Not exactly the flag I was hoping for, but still better than a Home2 Suites and the first EVEN in the South.
  9. I would love to see something similar to City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City built at this development or elsewhere in Uptown.
  10. So Legacy Union is the name of the entire development... what is the name of the building?
  11. I feel as if hotels always get pushed to a "later phase" and never see reality. However, Stonewall Station should easily be able to support an upscale flag considering it's location directly across the convention center and beside the Westin.
  12. Would love to see something similar happen to SouthPark as what GGP did with Natick Mall in Massachusetts. Their 2006 expansion added Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and nearly 100 other upscale stores including Gucci, Unique, ZARA, Forever 21.
  13. Such an underwhelming flag for such an upscale development. Would like to see a JW or a W in Charlotte considering Indianapolis and Austin both have one or the other and are smaller metros than Charlotte. Loews had Charlotte as a target destination a few years ago as well.
  14. So they want building signage on this random building but not their headquarters and the most recognizable building in Charlotte?
  15. Why can’t the mall support upscale stores anymore?
  16. Phillips Place would complement SouthPark Mall nicely if they find their identity.
  17. Not sure if this has already been posted, but the entire project will be 5,000,000 square feet and the city approved air rights for a pedestrian bridge across Church.
  18. Expecting more upscale flags to be announced as part of the Observer development and the Tryon Place development. Would love to see a W Hotel or Loews.
  19. Nashville may have more hotels going up, but Uptown Charlotte still has more hotel rooms and more upscale flags (InterContinental) coming soon. I don't necessarily think the two skylines are comparable (and neither are the cities for that matter).
  20. So as for the rumored retail mall attached to this project... what about Saks as an anchor and the mall something like City Creek Center in Utah?
  21. What I'd like to see happen at SouthPark: Macy's should rebrand to a Bloomingdale's. Macy's and Belk are too similar and need something to differentiate each other without one of them closing. Saks needs to replace Dick's... I don't know why that store has lasted in a mall as upscale as SouthPark for so long. There is currently two empty storefronts in the NM wing, Gucci and Versace should open in them. Armani should rebrand the Collezioni store to an AE store. Zara should open in the space between J. Crew and Belk (it's past time for them to enter Charlotte). There is also 3 empty storefronts beside Foot Locker, one between B&BW & Journey's, another between Journey's & American Girl.
