A friend of mine emailed with a Publix representative and the rep confirmed that they were trying to finalize something for East Nashville. That was a few months back. I'm sure Brett cannot say anything until documents are signed. Nothing is done until it's done....but it appears to be Publix. Of course, even when things are announced...they can change....ie: IKEA.

Agreed. Someone mentioned to me (on another forum) that there is a longer term plan to add another anchor to the north side between Dillards and Nordstrom. At first, it didn't seem like enough room....but in the photo above...it does kind of look like there is an indention in the wall (upper and lower) that might accommodate an entrance to the mall perhaps? Either way, there is nothing pleasing about the way this looks at this point.

I've seen these permits sit out here for a very long time before there is any type of announcement (that happened with the new RH Gallery). I'm assuming it will be the 1st floor of the new addition? But I'm not clear what that's going to look like from the exterior? I don't think I've seen renderings of what the finished product will look like? I don't know of another 27,000 sq ft space in the old part of the mall.

See if this link works? https://epermits.nashville.gov/#/permit/3570005?page=263&searchText=2126 abbott martin&searchCode=ADDR&searchType=permit&orderBy=permitNumber ASC I searched 2126 Abbott Martin. There are a few new ones out there (I assume they will start popping up with the new addition coming online). This was the most interesting one I saw so far.

Thanks for all you do Brett. I could not do your job, but appreciate that you are doing it. Having lived n Russell since 08...I get the frustration. I am fortunate that my partner and I were able to afford a garage ($70k later). I can’t say I used cones, but I know the people who do use them...all but one is elderly and has lived in the neighborhood for decades. It will all get worked out...that block of Russell will probably end up with permit parking. l

They’ve been around Nashville for probably 4 or 5 years. They used to come into the Station Inn on occasion and they had a condo in the Gulch. -

Interesting on the Panera and Corner Market...if there is one thing that my coworkers mention that is lacking over there, it’s a place like Panera or someplace to get a decent salad. I think ANYTHING he puts over there will do well. At least, during the day M-F...and as they keep adding apartment buildings that will help too. -

I noticed a sign at 2030 Rosa L. Parks on my way to work this morning that says Dunkin Donuts and Chipotle coming soon. It's an old Shoney's building. From the permit site it looks like there will be 2 retail spots in the old building and they are also building a new building with a drive through on the property (probably the Dunkin Donuts). Not terribly exciting....but Metro Center can use all the food it can get at lunch time. -
I saw that....I don't think there's anything there I will be taking advantage of.... I seem to recall that when they announced that building they were advertising that it would be upscale retailers that East Nashville doesn't have. I guess...we don't have those....but I don't see anything upscale about them either. It's good it will serve a need other than drinking alcohol....I think we have that covered....

A friend texted me a little while ago and said a Publix rep responded to an email inquiry she had made. The representative confirmed that they are working on a store for the HG Hill site. She said it was not a done deal though. She also told her that Publix would be opening 4 new stores in Nashville in 2019.
