  1. The picture certainly looks like the front face looking at it from the terminal hallway with a separate to-go counter on the outside separate and apart from the interior, sit down portion, as is the common configuration for many airport restaurants now. The article also says Acme Feed and Seed is coming near the international arrivals and departures gates in 2024....
  2. This looks great, could really be an anchor in helping Music Row evolve into a truly mixed use neighborhood, especially as the "music industry" has contracted and consolidated.
  3. This does not seem to be what is in the draft agreements, so I guess we will have to wait and see. See here at 30:30 or so: This is also not correct. They gave something to the Fair Board called a "community benefits plan" and multiple Fair Board members said it was not really clear or concrete, see here at 37:00 or so and at 50:00 or so and 52:00 or so:
  4. Chicago (Minneapolis too) bailed out on their bid because of FIFA's pretty aggressive demands for tax and other financial concessions as part of the bids, which is something I don't think has been discussed.... https://www.newsobserver.com/news/business/article262551862.html I think these are notable to point out because these concessions certainly cut against certain categories of positive "economic impact" you would hope to see.....
  5. If those things are actually proven true, I think the neighborhoods will support it. But again, there are no hard details, and rather the Fair Board seems to have pointed out the opposite (more races and practices) about what is going on behind the scenes. Most of that time was horse racing, let's go all in on that!
  6. No. Because they do and have canvassed neighborhoods. So your original statement that SUN only sends surveys to its listserv is not accurate or pretty damn accurate. Ahh, here we get down to the heart of the matter. Enough said. …
  7. Dude. You said they were just surveying their list serv, i pointed out that isn’t entirely correct. Then you jumped to your apparent deep knowledge of the survey questions and said they were flawed. I asked how so, and now you say you don’t have the questions or remember what they are, but I should post them and then end with a lame attack? Ok, this has been productive…..
  8. Your post does not show any actual questions or proof of this. You just conclude this. In any event, this is not the same as neighbors having concerns about noise, regardless of SMI’s supposed claims about their “plan”. Again post the “very specific questions” from the survey you referenced in your original post. What are the actual questions you don’t like ? There is no actual proposal. All of the Fair Board members’ comments over the last year have said they very much need to see these things (sound walls, limited practices) included and need actual details about these items, but nothing clear exists yet. It was pointed out at one meeting a couple months ago that SMI actually proposed in a draft agreement to increase practice time a lot. And the “50% noise reduction” claim has been questioned during multiple Fair Board meetings, with that claim only maybe applying to the local racing and even then apparently the sound study counted the impact of mufflers twice, since the cars already had mufflers, which is already required. I will dig up the links to both of these meetings for you.
  9. Again, which questions exactly and specifically do you take issue with? Let’s put up a copy of the survey and go through it. And your second claim is apparently not correct since SUN submitted a letter to the Fair Board saying they would meet in public with SMI, but were not going to meet in private, and especially with no actual details released on the speedway proposal, which would then allow SMI to just say “we met with them” and then not have real discussions. Finally, what is the “current proposal” that the survey did not reflect? Because no one seems to know what that is except for you.
  10. I’ve noticed from your last two posts that you don’t seem to have many facts at your disposal. You claimed SUN only surveys their listserv. I corrected you to say they do indeed canvas neighborhoods. I also very much said I doubt their survey could be considered as scientific polling. Here you say they are asking bad questions. That is a different thing, but in any event, i would love to know which specific question you don’t like because I doubt you have seen them. Sounds like you just don’t like SUN or maybe you just really really want a big new stadium. That’s fine, but maybe don’t ramble on about strawmen and things without access to actual facts.
  11. This. Cynical people and dim reporters are going to say the “stadium controversy” killed the chances (and then say this proves we need a new one), but the fact of the matter is Nashville has near zero public transit and inadequate infrastructure, and BNA will still be a work in progress in 2026. These are real reasons to give FIFA pause.
  12. This is not correct. They definitely canvas neighborhoods door-to-door, I think you may be thinking of something else. It certainly may not meet scientific polling standards, but they do canvas. “The $200,000 came at the urging of Councilmember Sean Parker, whose East Nashville district borders the stadium.” So sounds like it should just be “Council is pursuing new scrutiny”….. Good for them.
  13. How low tier of a brand is this gonna end up being? Also, on a related note, I presume the "restaurant" is just going to be the dining space where the free breakfast is served for hotel guests and maybe drinks during happy hour....
  14. It's the one near the C10-12 American gates, next to the Admiral's Club entrance....
  15. I like Buildings 1 and 3 (as long is there is that art mural/cladding part of the garage, but Building 2 looks perhaps a bit cheaper?
  16. And there are certainly multiple possible interpretations of what the (terribly written) lease requires. We know the Titans' interpretation now. What is Metro's interpretation and where is their supporting analysis? I would imagine that an honest assessment by an outside party would say significantly less. It certainly may not change anything or the decision that the Mayor's Office has clearly already made to push ahead, but doesn't a conversation about this much money deserve an honest conversation about what the options are?
  17. "After some confusion at this week’s Budget and Finance Committee meeting, Council Director Margaret Darby indicated that the city had made a $200 million "clerical error" and expects a $2.2 billion dollar price tag, making the Titans’ proposed new home the second-most-expensive stadium in the world." Ah well, what's an extra $200 Million among friends?
  18. Cooper's opinion piece states only that he has "asked" for this. Obviously a vital requirement. And again (and again and again), the bigger one is will the Titans be on the hook if any revenue stream ever falls short of the amount necessary to cover the debt service? One part of this piece, though, stood our over all others- "The primary funding source for stadium construction will be the Titans and visitors to Nashville and the stadium campus. " This certainly doesn't sound like a neighborhood with residential housing being constructed adjacent to the stadium, as has been teased by the Titans in their initial wave of PR. It is ultimately what it is, but if all we are getting around the stadium is a new Dave and Busters, some chain restaurants, more hotels and a bunch of AirBnB's, then beyond committing so much of our bond capacity to this stadium, it really seems pretty darn silly to also be spending $500 Million on infrastructure to support a new tourist district, including the new bridge which is just meant to be a new Titans game off ramp. It's a shame.
  19. Actually, there are a number of Metro department leaders jumping ship very much because of Cooper's endless micromanaging and also his threats to fire them for not doing exactly what he says....
  20. https://www.newschannel5.com/news/newschannel-5-investigates/revealed/revealed-titans-stadium-push-shows-family-connections-on-tennessees-capitol-hill That Titans didn't ask for or need a domed stadium at all, so they hired 15 lobbyists to not lobby for it.....
