  1. Stoked for Ace #3 to take over boston market in myers park.
  2. There was a development in Elizabeth that had a bunch of huge stock lifestyle shots of people's faces and someone had blacked out a tooth one of the "models". It was just so subtle and perfect
  3. For me - Target, Nordstrom, and online shopping.
  4. Macy's has two Charlotte stores at SouthPark and Northlake -do we think they will both make the cut? https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/04/macys-to-close-125-stores-sees-480-million-in-restructuring-costs-to-2000-corporate-jobs.html
  5. How does the Wegmen's footprint compare to earthfares?
  6. Organic grocery chain Earth Fare has begun closing its stores, including all of its Charlotte stores via @KatiePeralta on twitter. Employees found out this morning.
  7. Infinity's end going into the old JLC space...gotta wonder how long that lease is signed for
  8. Southpark has a Stuart Weitzman source: I love shoes.
  9. Whoops I went Thursday night, not over the weekend. Still trying to get a grip of what day it is after the holidays. Quite possible they had booze by the weekend.
  10. https://www.charlotteagenda.com/191623/peculiar-rabbit-has-closed-after-eight-years-in-plaza-midood/ All I want for 2020 is Rob Nixon to let go of this property
  11. The crowds at lost and found and pins are IMPRESSIVE. Maybe it's just the newest and hottest thing but these two places are where everyone wants to be in the 20-30 crowd. Literally half of my social feed was at Pins yesterday. Uptown is an afterthought.
  12. Went to white duck taco in belmont over the weekend. No booze yet. Tacos were good I had the Steak and the thai peanut and they were really delicious with double wrapped tortillas. Chips and queso was unremarkable. Still kind of feels like you're eating at the bottom of a storage facility.
  13. Signage was up for the chocolate shop next to candlebar this morning
  14. First wind cycling is out of their space ....anyone know who's taking it?
  15. Nichols company is out marketing the post office w/ 19,000 s.f. of office on top
  16. Went by TH yesterday to enjoy the dumpling lady as they opened. The lower parking lot was almost full but the overflow gravel lot was empty (I parked here). My first time at the project, and I'm surprised they put dumpling lady literally (at what is currently) the entrance to the space as there were only 5 people ahead of me in line when I arrived yesterday, and the line was basically "backed up" to the front door. They are going to need to put line scansion out to prevent that from happening. Also of note, you're getting 2 dumplings less than you get at the truck for the same price ( 7 vs. 9) and all the dumplings were sticking to the bottom of the paper plate. A lot less sauce than you get at the truck too. Of note: there was no one in line for Bao & Broth. Undercurrent, the gelatto place, and the sushi burrito place had small but manageable lines. I'll probably wait 4-6 months to go back unless I need a place to read, study, or work. The food itself wasn't impressive enough at this point for me to come back. I'll probably go find TDL food truck for her lunch special well before I rush back to optimist to pay $9 for 7 dumplings. Or I'll get a noodle bowl that will actually fill me up.
  17. I remember seeing something about what was going into the old Joe Dough's space but now can't find it anywhere, can someone help me out?
  18. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article233384642.html Basal coffee closing in Freemorewest
  19. They were the OGs that were forced out. Here's some good history on him it if you have some time to read: http://www.charlottemagazine.com/Charlotte-Magazine/March-2015/The-End-of-The-Penguin/ http://www.charlottemagazine.com/Charlotte-Magazine/April-2011/Frayed-Pride-and-Friend-Pickles/ she
  20. Former Penguin owner Brian Rowe reviving his iconic restaurant in a century-old home in Optimist Park Love the name. Love the location. Nice scoop by the Agenda: https://www.charlotteagenda.com/174316/former-penguin-owner-brian-rowe-reviving-his-iconic-restaurant-in-a-century-old-home-in-optimist-park/?fbclid=IwAR3XysaMUjwx1b1Ucl3emu412EdnDT7CRLEYLAzgiDMF5jQjns7q7EC-ITE Rowe’s new restaurant is named Bird Bones Cafe, a play on the remnants of the death of the Penguin, and will feature a skeleton penguin logo in honor of the iconic sign that still stands at the original building. It’s taking shape in a century-old home on the property at Area 15, an eclectic small business hub just outside Uptown and across the street from Optimist Hall. Charlotte coffee heavyweight Not Just Coffee, now boasting a stacked lineup of six locations, got its start here back in 2011. Rowe wants to replicate the original restaurant as closely as possible. “When you walk in here, you’re gonna think you’re in the Penguin,” he said. “It’s gonna be identical.”
  21. Held on way longer than I thought it would. Wasn't there like 2 or 3 failed concepts here before Vine landed? I remember this being a bit of a revolving door
  22. When can we anticipate tenant announcements here?
  23. Also in the announcement, they will be taking space at Charlotte Plaza in the interim so those who though uptown was a possibility at some point weren't totally wrong.
