  1. wow didn't realize it had been that long.
  2. Not necessarily SouthPark mall news - but BeBe did close their SouthPark store earlier this year (if my memory serves correctly). "In a securities filing Friday, Bebe said it anticipates it will close all of its stores by the end of May. The apparel chain operates two stores in Charlotte – at Northlake Mall and at Charlotte Premium Outlets." http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article146011234.html
  3. None of the brokers I know or work with will work with her. She is notoriously bat shi* crazy, and will leave rambling messages on your voicemail at 3am. Wouldn't be surprised if nothing ever happens to that hole. Long live the mosquito pit.
  4. They are doing interior work every day. There is a TON of interest on both the retail and office front. Heard some interest from current Krog-street purveyors as well as lots of looks from distinguished local restaurateurs. There are tours going through the space almost daily. Timing could be pushed back due to construction related reasons, but it won't be for lack of tenant interest. I hope that there may be retail related announcements in the not so distant future.
  5. I was surprised to see this this morning as well. But then again after the "banking bros" piece yesterday, nothing Ted does surprises me.
  6. I just admit my fate when I go there and park towards the back. It really isn't that far of a walk from the back to Chopt/HT/whatever.
  7. Hearing rumors that Kennedy's in Elizabeth is circling the drain. Anyone else?
  8. Ditto - it seemed busy every time I went there. Parking in the Cotswold location was frustrating, but not impossible.
  9. Block & Grinder, the farm-to-table restaurant with locations in Cotswold and Langtree near Lake Norman, announced Friday that it’s closing. Executive chef Ben Philpott said that next Thursday will be the last day for both locations. “We have good weeks and bad weeks,” he said. “At the end of the day, that’s what it boils down to. I was trying to offer all-natural, as-local-as-possible product for a competitive price and it just didn’t work out. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/living/food-drink/article143354279.html?utm_content=buffer5227c&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  10. What's up with this quote from Asana . . Sam Judd, chief investment officer at Asana, said the firm doesn't have immediate plans for the buildings, which sit on a 0.8-acre site at the intersection of Camden Road and West Park Avenue, directly on the Lynx Blue Line. "We like the location relative to our other holdings in South End," Judd said. "I think as tenants’ leases expire, we’ll renovate the buildings and bring in new tenants." Developers: I'd like a little less "get off my lawn" and a little more "kumbayah" in these press statements. Even if you're lying to us.
  11. I double dog dare you to post this in the PM facebook group
  12. is that office project a build to suit or spec?
  13. The profile of these buildings just crack me up
  14. sounds like yafo #2 may be coming soon "Scibelli and his team are in the midst of lease negotiations for a spot on Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood, the serial restaurateur told the Observer, though he declined to say where exactly the new restaurant would be. If all goes well, he added, the second Yafo would open later this year." http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article137225888.html
  15. Mike Libretto wants to reassure everyone: No, he’s not bringing another pizza place to Plaza Midwood. Instead, Libretto and partner Mario Flynn plan to open a second Coaltrane’s Char Grill location in the former John’s Country Kitchen space on the corner of Central and Pecan. The space at 1518 Central Avenue has sat vacant since it closed in May 2015. Libretto and Flynn said they hope to have Coaltrane’s open by early summer. http://www.charlottefive.com/coaltranes-plaza-midwood/
  16. someone on the plaza midwood facebook page contacted mike and he said it is NOT a librettos pizza. Guess we'll just have to wait to see
  17. Something by Mike Libretto (assuming librettos) is actually going into the John's Country Kitchen space.
  18. OMB said Monday that it plans to open a new brewing facility in Cornelius. But the size of that brewery depends on changing a state law governing beer distribution. The brewery will be located in the 51,000 square-foot building formerly occupied by MacLean Curtis, which moved its manufacturing facilities to Mooresville last year. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/development/article133825984.html?utm_content=bufferfaa65&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  19. Maybe the outback on east will be next. That location has always been a head scratcher for me.
  20. Awesome addition to South End - I thouroughly enjoy Roots over at Legion. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article133419759.html
  21. BCBG closing http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article132414984.html
