  1. That proposed casino in Petersburg definitely does not kill any casino aspirations locally. It's first phase is a 200 room hotel, event center, and gaming area. It would be in an entirely different market. It may take Cordish and or Smith out of any local project, but not necessarily so.
  2. I never liked her, and I don't see that ever changing.
  3. It had nothing to do with the size of the arena. They sold about 60% of the available seats. This was a stunt to both save face, and get free publicity for the remainder of the tour. They obviously need all the publicity they can gin-up.
  4. Not what I read yesterday. The article I read yesterday said it was to be filmed in Virginia Beach. I will post a link if I find it.
  5. I wonder where they found the room for a second dock?
  6. The Half Moon Terminal will only be available for overflow cruises from Baltimore until May. After that it will be undergoing expansion to prepare for year round operations which begin in 2025.
  7. Another big issue with Chrysler hall is the small loading dock. Some of the bigger productions travel with 18 tractor trailers of gear, and the loading dock can handle only 1 truck at a time. This adds an added level of difficulty and cost. They need a much larger delivery dock.
  8. An appeals court has upheld the dismissal of the $100M lawsuit brought by Cordish against the City of Norfolk regarding casino plans. https://www.pilotonline.com/2024/03/01/appeals-court-upholds-decision-dismissing-waterside-developers-casino-lawsuit-against-norfolk/
  9. The city has little to do with this particular delay. It is a VDOT project, and the contractors are supposedly delayed by poor soil conditions and overhead wiring conflicts.
  10. IIRC the length of the old people mover caused it to be removed because it added excessive mechanical stress and lengthy and expensive repairs.
