  1. This thing has GOT to have ROW too.
  2. Nicholson Drive is the best corridor to put this on, no doubt. I hope they pick something attractive and permanent. With good planning and management this will boom. However, one problem I see when I look at the horizontal section pictures is the rail only being in one lane. Does this mean that they want to run one "car" at a time between I-10 overpass and LSU? I can see this being problematic.
  3. (Coming from River Park thread)...o suggest that a campus like WC should be in Mid-City. If they are going to do any school dedicated to the study of rivers and deltas, they picked a very good place to grow it. Unless there is a river going through Mid-city to compete with
  4. I was trying to be subtle about it. To those wh....(over to Water Campus tread)
  5. What I mean by that is you will end up with an isolated project with one way in and one way out. Btw, a simple "controlled" left turn to get on I-12 west from N. Millerville would be fine. The intersection is not "a mess"...for now.
  6. Being completely surrounded by neighborhoods that will want nothing to do with whatever is put there will make it interesting to see what evolves.
  7. I wonder what they did with the ironwork in that third to last picture. Did it have any historic value? If so, they could have incorporated it into one of the new designs in that area.
  8. I'm waiting for the follow up article that says the city finally designated taxis a waiting lot...underneath the I-110 fly over. Good luck connecting with the market there.
  9. And NOW word comes from the taxi people that they are trying to better serve the downtown area by designating taxi waiting lots.
  10. Who is "Uber" excited about Uber coming to Baton Rouge?

Those renderings also have Phase numbers. Maybe it will be updated in stages.
  13. Change is a process and Baton Rouge is definitely going through it.
  14. That's why I used the word "too." I didn't get all my financial education from home. I had a desire to learn more on my own, so I read a lot. I'm glad to hear you got your nephew the financial book itsjustme3. I hope he appreciated it.
  15. Financial education should come from the home too.
  16. Stop putting stop lights for every Oak, Pine and Cypress subdivision and you can have all the one entrance subdivisions your little heart desires. The main arteries shouldn't have to suffer for the veins.
  17. There is a difference between teaching them the answers to the test and teaching them how to find the answers themselves.
  18. Ya got dat right...sha!
  19. I thought I read somewhere that the hospitals and the University didn't pay a certain tax already. Am I wrong about this?
  20. http://m.washingtonpost.com/local/trafficandcommuting/white-house-opens-door-to-tolls-on-interstate-highways-removing-long-standing-prohibition/2014/04/29/5d2b9f30-cfac-11e3-b812-0c92213941f4_story.html This could help in the development of a loop.
  21. And not every block has to be developed right this second. It will come soon enough.
