  1. The Atchafalaya Basin is a big geographical obstacle for making any connection with Lafayette. I think the culture is also different.
  2. This seems like the sort of architecture that would go well on Government, near the Arts District or "Mid-City West." I think it can be made small enough to blend in better with those areas. I like to see higher density buildings in a downtown area.
  3. It will guarantee you out of a school system that has been disproven though.
  4. How catastrophic would it be if Nicholson Drive was brought down to two auto lanes between LSU and Downtown?
  5. I like that it will run every half hour. Consistency always makes things easier to use.
  6. I think of the congestion and gridlock that comes with lights and stop signs as unappealing. I would want something different.
  7. I'm a huge fan of roundabouts, but I would have to see drawing in that setting before I could make any verdicts.
  8. I don't see how you could take down our 110 "skyway" without putting up a rediculous number of new stop lights/stop signs. Even if we turned it into a boulevard with no left turn entrances, the speed limit would have to be reduced dramatically. I'm imagining a Veterans or Esplanade type of setup... ...I do, however, agree that a boulevard would be way more attractive and much better at atleast visually connecting the neighborhoods.
  9. Additional parking requirements will be an issue too converting from residential to commercial.
  10. I hope so, but with inflation and salaries, I can't completely agree. Prices go up, they don't go down. But hey! gas prices are down.
  11. But....privatization means higher cost, because now it is for profit or as I like to call it "Priced for Progress". That could squeeze out the market it was there for to begin with.

They have posted some concept designs for the Entergy Complex on the Baton Rouge Business Report.
  13. Do you think he is going to connect with the existing neighborhood on the northwest side?
  14. Can you imagine all the stop signs and red lights...?
  15. I'm impressed that they are including trails in the plan. I'm assuming one of these trails will connect to the existing MoL/Grove trail.
  16. I do think they need turn a little more to supplying more living space if they want to "keep people downtown." The light rail will fit in great when it's said and done. I think its safe to say the use for it will definitely be there. They should start it sooner rather than later.
  17. Everybody needs a peanut gallery.
  18. It sounds like adding lines is more important than taking care of the lines they have now.
  19. Hopefully, they will say something we didn't already know.

I can't think of any gas station I've ever seen that didn't have the fueling station on the corner or in plain sight. It's what they are there to sell. They can't afford to hide it. I was just disappointed that they didn't include separate pedestrian amenities.

http://www.businessreport.com/article/20140916/BUSINESSREPORT0112/140919849 This isn't setting a very good precedent for an Overlay District.
  22. I hope things have gotten better since then. I have a glimmer of faith in the system.
  23. Speaking from past personal experience with CATS (not in that specific area)...45 minutes...minimum.
