  1. The unpossible has occurred...I have been exposed by an anonymous super genius...I should move to NYC where it will be easier to hide my lack of intellect.
  2. Sorry, I guess that one soared over your head. The point is that even great cities have buildings that are bad architecture. Some of these buildings are considered awful when built because they push the boundaries of architecture. Others are just simply bad architecture that never ages well. There are numerous other reasons why this personal viewpoint could change over time. Personally, it gets tiring hearing you complain about the architecture of Manhattan versus that or Charlotte. It is like comparing the handling of a Ferrari to that of a BMW X5. One is in an absolute different class, and the other just happens to be great at what it is. Just keep in mind that even Ferraris are not perfect.
  3. OFF TOPIC: We forget that NYC also gives us these gems: https://www.cityrealty.com/nyc/market-insight/features/iconic-addresses/new-yorks-brutalism-batch-the-good-bad/3003 Not all projects are great.
  4. Confirmed on the 6 cranes in SP. 2 at each of Liberty South Park, Apex South Park, and ZOM South Park.
  5. RDF - Any idea when Marine Layer will be opening?
  6. This is pretty huge. Even coming from the South, I would be inclined to continue past Pearl St and go up here to get in to Uptown. My girlfriend has considered riding her bike from basically Freedom Park to WFC1 for work. It is an easy ride to Sugar Pearl St, but then you are stuck in the bike lane on Kenilworth/Stonewall with the major intersection at Midtown and two on ramps for I-277. I am a very confident biker and I would never ride in to work this way.
  7. Ok...So only permanent cranes count? I will get a proper South Park count next Tuesday.
  8. I think SP has more than 6. The project above has 4 on its own - 3 static blue cranes and one mobile yellow crane. We moved from 1100 S. Tryon to Regus space above Ruth's Chris, so right in front of this guy. I will try to get a more accurate count one day soon. We did just lose 4 at Lunion 1.
  9. Well that was the only thing on that block, so nothing else. But I could not imagine any one ever considering CM the, "the cultural and spiritual center of an entire community (South End)." To each his own though.
  10. What are you referring to here? Common Market?
  11. We have not talked about this one much in a while. We moved out last week, so I am more or less tapped out of updates. However, I did snap the two pics below prior to leaving. I have no idea what they are, but my guess would be electric conduits to use during construction. DFA had a temporary electric box installed near the Camden/Tryon intersection. Also, Spectrum was supposedly drafting letters instructing tenants to get out as soon as their leases ended and trying to convince tenants not to try holding over. We were trying to holdover because our new space was delayed significant by the LL. I never saw the letter (I would have), so I am not sure it actually went out. Interestingly, they never told us we could not holdover. The only answer we got from Spectrum was they could not get in touch with Invesco. Also, in January, they built out the first floor for Fontem Ventures. The places is much nicer than when it was Cardinal Innovations, but nothing very expensive all cubicles. I am sticking with my bet that nothing happens at this site until after June 1.
  12. Yeah, I agree with needing patience. The 800 room hotel was proposed with far less office planned (assuming LU 1-3 are all office). Who knows what will come. At least we get another development of some sort...
  13. How do they do the BANA sign with no crane? Use a lift like window cleaners use?
  14. CO with a real timely article...construction just started today...
  15. Remember back on January 23rd, when RDF promised we absolutely have something prior to March 1?
  16. Creativity! I think you would personally would say that is Harris's strength, correct @ricky_davis_fan_21?
  17. Thanks Kermit. The lack of rail or bus tracking this late in GPS development is absurd. I can track my freaking luggage for $100. They could just buy an iPhone 5 and plug it into the cigarette lighter on each bus...boom GPS tracking. Any chance they could shutdown the Gold Line when the new cars get delivered and reopen prior to the Hawthorne bridge being completed? Seems to me this might be a viable option and the bets way to salvage some respect for the Gold Line. While it would be a huge miss to not have it connected to PM on day one, it would be nice to get faster more reliable service on the rest of the line. I assume it is too far out to consider a stop at the USNWC, right? It would be pretty cool to be able to bike over to light rail and hop a train to the USNWC for the day even if it took a line transfer at CTC. I might be too old to bike by the time this ever happened.
  18. I hear you, but let's all keep in mind they are still using the old trolleys. I think there will be a marked improvement in ridership when the new cars are being used. I tend to think they did the line a disservice when they used the old trolleys. I wonder if they could have even gotten two of the new style cars on the line to start with the old trolleys. Also, this is potentially the only transit option that is ahead of its time in some areas. The growth on the west side is really impressive and a good chunk of those people could probably get to this line easily. When they planned this line, I am not sure anyone anticipated how quickly the west side would develop. I did not...or I would own a few lots and houses over there.
  19. streetcar...not sure anything else needs to be said to answer this one.
  20. Getting off topic, but Uptown was vetoed by management due to traffic. I wanted Uptown...haven't worked uptown in 6 years.
  21. If Wells Fargo is moving out of 1 WFC, then a lot of this space would be available. Seems like one bank's former HQ would be perfect for another bank's current HQ. The LL would also be willing to throw in some decent TIs to get them in that space. They don't need the whole tower, just the top 33-50%. This is formally my prediction. 1WFC becomes 1BBTSTC.
  22. Thanks...I thought I checked LoopNet...I must have missed it. We are moving out of Spectrum's 1100 S. Tryon Building next week to move into the Rotunda in SP. We are considering opening our search back up due to LL delays at Rotunda. If we do, I was going to recommend this building.
  23. Any idea what rent per square foot these spaces are going for?
