  1. Anyone else notice this structure on the intersection of Cahal and Porter? The one on the right sat open to the elements for a really long time and construction was halted with much of the particleboard uncovered. Now it appears construction has restarted and they’ve also threw up the one on the left. Again, pretty certain all that particleboard on the one on the right was left open to the elements for a really extended time and was not replaced. Buyer beware.

  4. I feel like the last two administrations also listed “traffic signal coordination to improve traffic flow” as priority. Does anyone know if that happened or is this just part of a continued effort?
  5. Although they did sell some really nice “swings” there. Hadn’t thought of the symbolism until now
  6. Looking forward to this being completed as well. Is the old Fran’s building part of this or is that different owner?
  7. Apparently there are some funds allocated for this project in the Mayor’s capital budget that was passed last night.
  8. Love the re-use. Here's hoping for some neighborhood spots with affordable drinks and food geared toward locals and not Air bnbr's. See "Once Upon a Time in France" for reference.
  9. Ground floor retail would have been even nicer and would help activate that stretch of Gallatin Rd.
  10. I remember when the owners of Porter Road Butcher were asked why they didn't call the store "Gallatin Road Butcher" (since they are actually located on Gallatin Rd). I think the reply was they didn't want it to sound like a serial killer. My have times changed lol. This should thoroughly add to the confusion of Gallatin Rd vs Gallatin Ave vs Gallatin Rd North vs Gallatin, TN. Especially when you throw in the mix a bunch of out of towners.
  11. I was wondering the same. Excited, but with Mitchell's and Dose nearby a sandwich/coffee shop seems an odd choice.
  12. The parcels that Samaritans Recovery Center sit on are prime real estate (I know, Captain Obvious). There are some beautiful old growth magnolia trees on them that I would hate to see all cut down.
  13. Someone posted this link on the Inglewood FB page with renderings of the Riverside Village development. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2694581747259791&id=180006315384026
  14. Most "official" looking story I have seen about the East Nashville Publix. Behind the paywall. https://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/news/2019/10/03/first-lookpublix-confirmed-for-east-nashville.html?ana=TRUEANTHEMFB_NA&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+New+Content+(Feed)&utm_content=5d963063a250bd00010b89b5&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=facebook
  15. I drive a full size truck (not that big though lol). I have three children that would not fit very well into a smaller truck and these kids will only get bigger. I live in the urban core and have for over 15 years. I did not depart to the suburbs because I had kids. I am also renovating an older home and needed a truck for that purpose. Speaking of stereotypes, not everyone is in thier late 20's/early 30's with only a fur baby to take care of and drives a Honda Element . The awful person part is debatable, might want to ask my wife
  16. I have lived in East Nashville/Inglewood for almost 13 years and have never had an issue at Inglewood Kroger. Do I wish they had a few more amenities? Sure, but I'm still happy they added fresh sushi, lol. I have also had very few issues at Eastland Kroger and I suspect I would have at almost any grocery store, at least occasionally. The worst Nashville Kroger I have ever patronized was...drum roll please... the Belle Meade Kroger. It was a real $hithole back in the day. The meat always smelled in the summer and there was trash everywhere, all the time.
  17. So does anyone know if the new development at Riverside Village will even have a commercial/retail component? I would hate it if it was only residential. Going to miss the Fond Object building (and also the affordable/kid friendly shows they had in the back area) although not the rest of the brick o block structures. I was all for the proposed development that was shot down by the NIMBY's without a cause.
  18. Someone posted on one of the East Nashvillle FB pages asking for workers to help demo. They said it was going to start tomorrow.
  19. I apologize if this is common knowledge or already discussed but has Publix confirmed involvement in this development?
