  1. They had a great burger before all the trendy burger joints popped up around town. They always grind the meat right after you order it and it doesn't cost $14.
  2. I'll just set this right here...behind the pay wall.. https://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/news/2017/10/16/psc-buys-scrapyard-property-from-landlord.html
  3. Besides the Fond Object building, pretty sure the rest of the buildings aren't much more than some cinder blocks cemented to each other. There was rumour earlier that Fond Object was moving into the old Bailey & Cato house but I am not sure how reliable that was. I had heard it from some restaurant employees nearby.
  4. I can't wait to hit Three Points tonight to enjoy me some Jeni's and then maybe a jaunt over to Historic West Town.
  5. Not complaining but I just Googled mapped and the Biscuit Love in the Gulch is literally 3.4 miles away. Shorter as the crow flies.
  6. I would totally buy this. When the Publix was first rumoured to go where Sprouts is going, Inglewood Kroger all the sudden put in a sushi bar and fancy mushroom bins. When that never happened any more upgrades seemed to have stopped although I'm glad the sushi bar was put in.
  7. Here is an update on the massive Chicago based Monroe development on the East Bank. Site plan is showing Cleveland Street extending over the interstate through the development and bridging over to 2nd Ave in Germantown. Also Grace Street is extended over the interstate with a pedestrian bridge to 2nd Ave. Slated to begin in the spring. http://wkrn.com/2017/01/10/massive-mixed-use-development-coming-to-cumberland-river-near-downtown/ http://www.rivernorthnashville.com/
  8. There was a permit to demo 2619 GALLATIN PIKE. It's that cool old Tudor house across from the YMCA and Save A Lot. I thought a little start up music studio bought it. It looks like they half butted tried to rehab it and then must have sold it. GUERRIER DEVELOPMENT, LLC pulled the permit. Anyone know anything about them?
  9. Pretty sure a lot of people said that after the tornado in 1998. We all know how that turned out. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Southern Grist pulled a permit for their craft brewery on Greenwood and Porter.
  10. The old Sophia's Heart has been demoed and a permit for 46 mil was pulled for 1036 W EASTLAND AVE. A permit was pulled (last week?) for a Google Fiber Hut on Scott Ave between Douglas and Straightway. There has been some digging and it appears they have a spot leveled. I also noticed some pipes and infrastructure lying in the field behind the Walgreens on Chester Ave (near Foobar) this morning so those condos may be starting soon.
  11. Solo East broke ground today. http://wkrn.com/2015/09/29/groundbreaking-held-for-east-nashville-affordable-housing-development/
  12. Here's an article but the address is wrong, it should be the greenspace across from 710 South Fifth Street 37206. http://www.tennessean.com/story/money/2015/04/07/mdha-plans-unit-apartment-building-east-nashville/25433803/?from=global&sessionKey=&autologin=
  13. I could be wrong, but I think this is the rendering for the same companies (Greenline) site build for the residential/retail project across from the Inglewood library. They apparently are going to start grading and installing the erosion barrier soon but said it will be a little bit before actual construction.
  14. Permits pulled for Butcher & Bee restaurant at 902 Main and Nomzilla Sushi at 1000 Gallatin Ave.
  15. Permits from Friday - 1) Permit pulled to rehab the old Worms Way on Main to Smith and Lentz Brewery. 2) Master permit to build the first phase of the development at Waters Ave and Riverside Dr. 3) Permit pulled for the sign for Family Wash on Main Street.
  16. Looks like Oasis Market is getting ready to open soon. Also, the former church being developed as an event space at 1530 Riverside Drive (by the Ruby folks) has a for sale sign back on the property. Anyone know details?
  17. This may have been accessible via the PP presentation - here is some info from the Envision Cayce press release - MDHA has HUD approval – HUD approved MDHA’s RAD conversion application on 3/31/15. Cayce remains the top priority – Of the housing projects requiring complete redevelopment, Cayce Place is the first priority. ... MDHA remains committed to the Master Plan – The 18 month collaboration between MDHA, EJP Consulting Group, the Community Advisory Group, Residents and related stakeholders resulted in the creation of the Envision Cayce Master Plan. MDHA remains committed to that plan which includes: 1. 1 for 1 replacement of existing public housing units with limited disruption to residents during construction. 2. Existing residents get first priority to return 3. 1,500 additional affordable housing units 4. Mixed use to include retail 5. Better access to public transportation Schedule for implementation is on track – MDHA plans to build 67 new units on 5th Street and is working on plans to build additional units on site that would be completed in the Summer of 2017. When completed, existing residents would move into those new units. Obsolete units would then be demolished to make way for new construction. This phased approach of building first, then demolishing old units, allows for on-site relocations (“From Cayce to Cayce”). Implementation is contingent on financing – The RAD program is a mechanism for converting traditional section 9 public housing units to section 8 public housing units, which provides a more stable stream of HUD subsidies. Through RAD the title on the land is transferred from HUD to MDHA. With an unencumbered title, MDHA can then access private funding sources for the redevelopment. MDHA will spend the next year pursuing sources of financing. Envision Cayce is Nashville’s opportunity of the century – A privately funded, mixed income and economically sustainable community provides the best opportunity to break the cycle of multigenerational poverty and ensure that the 1,200 children at Cayce can realize their full potential. It also includes 1,500 additional units of affordable housing near downtown and with direct access to the interstate. Simply put; it is our largest opportunity to increase affordable housing, where we could have the biggest impact on the largest number of families that need it most and the chance for Nashville to become a national model for overcoming the challenges of concentrated poverty. You can make a difference – This plan will require support and advocacy from the community as well as from Metro Council and the Mayor’s Office. With upcoming elections, make sure your voice is heard and your candidates support Envision Cayce.
