WOW! this is awesome. the fist thing i noticed was the passenger train. haha. I like the garage as a replacement for the land port. I've always envisioned a 3 story garage on the old train shed site, with part of the bottom floor being used for an Amtrak station.

slightly related. At the first Preds preseason game this year, I ran into a buddy from college that works for Fox sports. I was surprised to see him there since he lives in Atlanta. When I asked, he held up a small camera and said he was shooting updated b-roll of the arena. they needed new footage because the arena changed from Pepsi to Coke. -
Kinda random. But big development proposed for our neighbors to the west. Complete with a cap over a sunken highway. https://www.dailymemphian.com/section/businessreal-estate/article/1219/Grand-entrance-950M-Union-Row-proposed-for-Downtown

when Pi town first popped up a few years ago I proposed Lower Lafayette. LOLA. a few of us continued for a while. really i only suggested it because people seem to think that it needs a name. I think SOBRO should cover all of it. also, if you hate pie town, I saw an ad last year that advertised the South Street area as "Gulch heights"

Ive never seen a good picture of this building after it was added on to. before the terminal was moved to the current location across the field. I know it had a significant addition at some point not long after this picture. it was much larger for the movie "Nashville" for instance. anyone have one? -
Easy, they did the proposal correctly. They proposed something much bigger, then fought for it. But they eventually offered this scaled back design. And the nimbys said "well this isn't nearly as bad, I guess we can live with this" But this is probably what they actually wanted all along. More developers should take note. Propose 1/3 more than you want then when you get pushback you still get what you actually wanted. The next transit proposal should also follow this pattern.

I tried to approximate the angle as best as I could. It looks like the old track was much larger but the grand stand was in the same location. Also, the expo buildings were in the same footprint as the current ones. I also find this interesting as the no MLS crowd seemed to keep saying that the race track had been there much longer. -
