I don't usually reply to these types of threads but that is an unfair characterization of northerners. Some of us like the south and the people that are here more than where they're from. I was more excited about Palmetto State Armory than lot of southerners I know.

Man the Tilted Kilt, Hooters and Twin Peaks. Greenville is gonna have all the big ones! Of those types of restaurants I mean.

Some friends of mine tried Roost today and I got some interesting reviews about it. I'd love to hear what anyone's thoughts are about the food when they try it out.

I know the owner, but do not work for the business. I'm sales manager for retail stores. I've really enjoyed watching them put it together so I thought I'd post my thoughts here.

My take is modern and original with a high attention to detail and quality. The food doesn't conform to one standard or another I just felt it was good.

Disclosure: I know the owner. 21 east soft opening is on Monday. I've already tried the menu and it's pretty awesome. The lighting effects are completely unique, hand designed and built by the owner and GM. I've never seen something quite like it! It really blew me away, I can't wait to hang out there once the nightlife starts. I've been dying for an upscale, NY style(high attention to detail, quality and modern design) nightspot in Greenville and we finally have one.
