Hmmm, a new place to try for lunch. I'll have to try it tomorrow.

This is a small project, but it replaces an eyesore with what looks to be a pretty nifty design.

At least we know now why there was such a big construction delay. I always thought they were trying to expand too quickly.

Speaking of Holy Trinity, I spoke to one of their members recently and they expect to begin construction after this year's Greek Festival, which is usually the 3rd week in September. Opa!

Hey everyone, we need to get this photo thread busy again. Pricemiller asked me to post this photo he took from the 11th floor of the Sheraton looking south.

The building is in pretty good shape as it has been renovated within the last 10 years or so. This is a mediocre photo of the building (the one with the green awning in the background). I will search for some more photos or take some soon.

It is a reliable source, but until the purchase is complete, anything can happen, as you know. In the current economy I don't accept anything as a "given", but I'm confident that this is who is under contract to purchase the building. A 3-story retail store at that location would be awesome.

After originally looking at their website I wasn't really feeling too much excitement, but everyone on here that has been in one, seems pretty upbeat about them, so this might be a real shot in the arm for that block of Main Street. This might even create some synergy with the army-navy store 2 or 3 doors down on Main Street and, of course, the new Nickelodeon next door when it opens. Cool.

No, I haven't been to one, but it sounds like a nice addition to that block. There has been a tremendous amount of development in the earlier blocks of Main Street that finished their streetscaping a few years ago so it looks like with this and the Nickelodeon's impeding move, that the block between Taylor and Blanding will soon take off, also.

I'm glad to see progress on the Greek Orthodox Church - only 2 months until the Greek Festival! In other Main Street info I understand there will be a place called Mast General Store opening in the ground floor of the old Louries building on Main Street. I don't know much about them, but they seem to have an interesting mix of merchandise from what I understand.

That is correct. I have a close friend that works at Kroger's headquarters in Cincinnati and we always joke about that.

Yes and it will cost more to park there now. The addition of outlets would have made it more competitive with some of the other parking areas.

It will be about 3 years before those trees provide much shade, but it's an improvement from before. It was a huge mistake that they didn't install electrical outlets at each parking space, which will mean I won't park there for the long run.

It is really bad, just like the renderings we've seen of TMG. Maybe they release mediocre drawing so we can be impressed when we see the finished product. The more they finish on TMG, the more I am falling in love with the building. It is gaining some interesting architectural features that weren't apparent in the drawings, for instance there is some metalwork being placed outside of the windows, the shades of glass varies in different areas and there is an overhang on the southwest corner of the building that wasn't obvious. Maybe I'll take some updated photos today.

Either that or they're just passing kids that shouldn't be graduating. I'm skeptical because the dearth of resources in our rural school districts is criminal.

I can't wait to see how it will look once all of the building is covered in glass. The real thing is starting to look so much better than the renderings. I hope they do something really cool with the chapeau like lighting it from the interior in varying colors or something like that. Since the neon at the top of the BofA Tower and the bonnet on top of Meridian are both white lights, I hope this one will be something different.

In time, grasshopper, in time. Someday there will be a spectacular development on the Kline site. They could have developed something mediocre in the meantime, but they're waiting until they can build the whole enchilada.
