  1. Great overview. I've noticed that work continues on renovating the old parsonage as well.
  2. Report finds Nashville's share of college educated residents rises more than any large metro in past decade - Nashville Business Journal (bizjournals.com)
  3. And the whole thing fits in nicely with the rest of my neighborhood. Great project. But I am glad that my neighbors were able to quash the developer's attempt to modify the SP to allow non-owner occupied short-term-rentals.
  4. Check out the cover on this book I ordered for work. I didn't realize what was on it until it arrived. As far as I can tell, neither the publishers nor the authors have any Nashville connection. Photo credit: Getty Images.
  5. Well, I guess they have "city-like" traffic.
  6. The front row of houses at Eastwood Village nearly complete, at least on the outside. Work continues on the parsonage, and the sanctuary is looking good.
  7. The neighbors in the area around Eastwood Village are up in arms over an SP variance request that would allow non-owner-occupied short term rentals in some of the new houses. Our neighborhood association and CP worked closely with the previous owner to ensure the development didn't overly disrupt the neighborhood. Hoping the variance is denied. Also talk of a future variance request to allow the former church space be used as an event space. Also something the neighbors made sure to keep out of the SP originally. Could get interesting.
  8. I also just read that August's original report of 366,000 new jobs has been revised up to 483,000, and September's report of 194,000 boosted up to 312,000.
  9. I wonder how long it will take the MSM to update their nation in a tailspin narrative.
  10. I've spent a lot of time in that building over my career. Looking forward to hearing more about the plans. It will be good to see the War Branch of the Tennessee State Museum be able to expand.
  11. I'm eager to see businesses start to lease in this property. Great restoration and adaptation. When I walked by yesterday, I noticed some more trees on site on the west side ready to be planted.
  12. Calling out bland is not whining. Lamenting the loss of our city's history is not whining. The fact that the people with the money to buy up historic properties in this town generally choose not to unless there is an overlay protecting the property is regrettable. But do go on.
  13. If I remember correctly, that site is actually going to be two restaurants, one of which is Edley's. They will be relocating from their Main Street location once complete.
  14. Thanks, Brett. A master class. Not much I would add other than to say while it is fashionable in certain circles to bash all zoning, it is important to remember that zoning and planning were in large part responses to the ineffectiveness and high court costs of nuisance laws in settling property disputes. People are too quick to throw out the current system without first considering the problems it was in turn addressing.
