  1. I missed what is happening at the corner of Chicamauga and Gallatin, where King Solomon used to be. Anyone know?
  2. Some pix from last Friday taken from behind the new Zeppos College at Vandy, finished part and part still under construction. Looking northwest.
  3. Isn't that flood plain? That strip of road just to the east of there got chewed up bad last time it flooded.
  4. No reason to make that drive when Delta 8 and Delta 9 are legal in Tennessee.
  5. New cladding going on the ATT service building that was damaged by the Christmas Day Bombing.
  6. The administration here in TN dedicated this funding to grants for water infrastructure improvements. It looks like the grant process is ongoing, but you can find info about it at ARP (tn.gov). I don't see a list of granted projects, but you can find info on reported needs for all types of infrastructure projects, including water infrastructure, by county at Data Explorer (tn.gov) and Building Tennessee's Tomorrow 2020-2025 (tn.gov).
  7. I did. And Nashville doesn't need housing so much as Nashville needs affordable housing. It needs apartments that aren't "luxury" apartments and houses and condos that aren't bought up by out-of-town investors and short term rental slumlords. If what you're suggesting is that it would be better to have an extra story or two above the businesses for apartments, I agree. But I also know that it would more than likely end up being another STR hotel like the one above the Vandyke.
  8. It's consistent with the character of the block and surrounding area. Not everything has to be the Gulch.
  9. No doubt it's wasteful. And sandstone may be honest to what it is, but that is is not attractive on a tall building. IMHO.
  10. Thanks. I get your point. I've never cared for that sandstone look in taller buildings.
  11. I wish I had been able to get a photo on my drive in this morning. The paint job is looking great. As transformative as the paint job the Renaissance got a few years back.
  12. Or, recognizing that we don't (yet) live in a hellish libertarian dystopia, I could continue to make use of the existing zoning, planning, and political processes to try and support an appropriate balance of rights among property owners and between individual property owners and the broader community. Yeah, I'll do that one instead.
  13. Why yes, those of us lacking the capital to compete with deep pocket developers should have no say in the nature of our community. How silly of us.
  14. FWIW, there have been intermittent contractor crews conducting what appears to this casual observer to be surveying and soil tests of the state-owned surface parking lot on Union, next to the Snodgrass Tennessee Tower.
  15. Right across from Status Dough. Yeah, I'll stick with the local establishment.
  16. Alcove and Amazon II moving right along. Looking west from parking lot behind Hastings.
  17. Don't you know, Nashville only traces it's history back to that 2014 New York Times article naming us the It City?
