Nashville College & University Expansion
Nashville Cliff replied to smeagolsfree's topic in Nashville
Some pix from last Friday taken from behind the new Zeppos College at Vandy, finished part and part still under construction. Looking northwest. -
Why is this place any worse than any other? They need to be near social and government services, etc.

No reason to make that drive when Delta 8 and Delta 9 are legal in Tennessee.

The administration here in TN dedicated this funding to grants for water infrastructure improvements. It looks like the grant process is ongoing, but you can find info about it at ARP (tn.gov). I don't see a list of granted projects, but you can find info on reported needs for all types of infrastructure projects, including water infrastructure, by county at Data Explorer (tn.gov) and Building Tennessee's Tomorrow 2020-2025 (tn.gov).

I did. And Nashville doesn't need housing so much as Nashville needs affordable housing. It needs apartments that aren't "luxury" apartments and houses and condos that aren't bought up by out-of-town investors and short term rental slumlords. If what you're suggesting is that it would be better to have an extra story or two above the businesses for apartments, I agree. But I also know that it would more than likely end up being another STR hotel like the one above the Vandyke.

Or, recognizing that we don't (yet) live in a hellish libertarian dystopia, I could continue to make use of the existing zoning, planning, and political processes to try and support an appropriate balance of rights among property owners and between individual property owners and the broader community. Yeah, I'll do that one instead.

Developers/construction companies should have to pay a heavy, daily fee whenever they block access to a lane. Or block access to a sidewalk without providing a safe alternate route.

Don't you know, Nashville only traces it's history back to that 2014 New York Times article naming us the It City?
