  1. Does anyone on here have the slightest idea what this project will look like?
  2. Anyone in the know on what's about to open in Dimensional between The Salty and Condado? Space is being uplifted.
  3. Any idea of what the two towers on the Cousin’s owned lot across from Pins mechanical are going to look like? Resi or office? Suspect Resi mostly . When might renderings drop?
  4. Looks like a potential restaurant space. Would be great location for an outdoor dining balcony. Obviously new restaurants are going to want alfresco options after what we’ve just been through.
  5. Also the large decks which extend from the lower floors of the Line and the pleasant “beer lawn” in the rendering are not going to be present given the large “aircraft carrier” apartment building that’s going up next door.
  6. Quick questions...does anyone on the forum know if anything s planned for the corner of Tremont and Hawkins, between Parra and Krispy Kreme? It's a small space but pretty consequential corner, considering all that's being developed around it. Second question is what's planned for the blank lot that's fenced off on the same block, on the other side of the Krispy Kreme storefront facing Hawkins and Rampart, across street from The Line? Thx guys.
  7. Interesting rendering, and thx KJH....but interesting orientation for the rooftop aerofoil.....seems like it would be directed north, over the courtyard, down the spine of the project, instead of off to the side. But, I guess the hotel is kinda perpendicular to the rest of the project. I guess I'm just a symmetry lover.
  8. Considering this view…..does the building face Morehead or S. Tryon?
  9. Could someone elaborate on the physical orientation of this building. Does the front (? part with the setback/cutout) face South blvd or the rail trail, or does the narrow end front South blvd? What's the grassy median in front of the building with the park benches? Fantastic looking building! Can't wait to see it soar. Thx.
  10. I second you KHJ. I’ve lived in Charlotte for over 20 years now and I think we need to recognize South end for what it was - rundown, industrial, devoid of activity and sketchy at night, with a few small interesting oases such as common market. That CM where Dimensional now sits, was really a hidden gem that most people were unaware of. It has not been replicated, but what is going on in South end now is exponentially more than what would’ve been going on if the area had not been redeveloped. This area has so much incredible potential. Who’s to say that more unique niches will not be created. I think Lost and Found is another special scene for an important niche group that has developed, that would not be there otherwise. Give it some time. I love south end and can’t wait to see what it will become. It is going to end up distinguishing Charlotte from its peer cities
  11. I have a question, if anyone can help....a few pages back, it was mentioned there is a 15 story resi building planned "behind" Railyard - Cousins project, I believe. Is that going on the land already cleared and with construction fencing facing S. Church across from Seoul food or is that yet another project and the 15 story project is going to be facing Winnifred and will replace that block-long 1 story set of buildings directly behind Railyard? If these are two separate projects, what exactly is going up directly across from Seoul food. Just curious...thx guys.
  12. Is there a rendering available? Apparently behind a pay wall.
  13. Wow, just wow. The transformation of this small subsection of south end with these two towers and the tall Portman apartment building 1 block away is just going to be amazing. That undeveloped corner of the block at Hawkins and Tremont between these two developments, between the old Zepplin site and Krispy Kreme going to stick out like a sore thumb.
  14. Wish we could get a rendering of this. Everyone seems to know what’s going to be built at this site but I have never seen an actual diagram or rendering. There’s nothing on the Cousins website
  15. Where exactly is the second site located?
  16. Any rumblings on a rendering for the Price's site or was it just behind the CBJ paywall and otherwise not visible?
  17. Nice!.....But does anyone know what they are planning for the site?? Haven't seen any renderings or plans discussed.
  18. I also ate at Futo Buta today..love the space and the murals, had the miso as well. My preference was to try the tonkotsu, which was on the menu, but the server recommended against it and said "the chef is still perfecting it". The miso was good, as were the pork belly sliders, but I have to cast my vote firmly with Yama Izakaya having the best ramen in town. It's absolutely incredible! The 2 restaurants are very different and will appeal to your different moods, and offer different selections on the menus. I'm just glad we have 2 great new options in town!
  19. Unbelievable...stunning...strange? Why such a splashy and prominent introduction, with a link to a website that is non-functional. I'm really not understanding this one, but I can't imagine it'd be a hoax. Thoughts?
  20. Perhaps a tidbit of info: A buddy of mine that's planning on a move here had an appointment at the Vue yesterday to look at the units (he loved it, by the way). The Vue guys told him there's a building to be announced, ? condo, that's going in the block across from Trademark, bound by Trade and Poplar, where that laser dermatology bldg and a sea of parking lots, and the Builder's Bldg presently sit. He didn't ask further details and I wasn't there to ask (would have peppered them with questions). I realize this is just a rumor at best but has anyone heard of any similar whisperings?
  21. I know it's been rumored that Lucky Strike is going to operate the bowling venue, but why is it that I can find no evidence of this on their website, or anywhere else on the web? Anyone out there with any insider info on this? Just curious.
  22. The website is mercurynoda.com. Beautiful website, very prelim, but looks exciting. Definitely seems to be the largest development in Noda to date. I think the site plans were posted earlier but there's no rendering. Check it out.
  23. I can confirm Voyager's research. It's all over Googledom. 5 or 6 screen theater, opening specifically at Epicentre in 2008, will serve food and they've got job ads out for the restaurant GM, etc. From looking at some of Muvico's film offerrings, it seems like an interesting mix between box-office biggies, and art-house films. It's not an Angelika (which I was kinda hoping for), but I think it'll have broad appeal and will be good for downtown. I personally think it'll be packed!. It would be their smallest venue...most are 16 - 24 plexes, but this company is definitely luxe and appears to like dramatic architecture and a "destination" feel. I think this is a coup for Epicentre, but I doubt affordability will be it's long suit. Thoughts? Anyone with firsthand experience with Muvico?
  24. Anyone with advance info on the new restaurant by Concentrics group openning in the base of Avenue. Theme, timetable? This seems to be a pretty nice and creative group of restaurants in the ATL. I'll be interested to see (and try out) their new concept for CLT.
