Can anyone compile a list of all the under construction and proposed downtown greensboro projects/developments? It would be interesting to see what all is going on and in store.

Has anyone else seen the construction going on where the old City Motors used to be on Battleground, near Cornwalis? They have already put up the walls of a new building and have knocked out all of the glass on the old building. There are a couple of signs, but I didn't get a chance to read them. Anyone know what is going in at that location?

There is a reason that place is closing.. they always seemed to mess up basic simple stuff when I ordered cakes and what not. After giving out 50 dollars worth of credit to hundreds people for messed up orders for the past 2-3 years, they probably started feeling the money crunch to keep the doors open. Oh yeah and the Grill that they had open was pretty bad too. Service was unbearably slow and the food was mediocre.

Here's some good news and insight: If you can't Trade on Tryon, Tryon Trade.

First Citizen's Bank started construction on their 4-5 story building right off of battleground behind Kick Back Jacks. I didn't have time to take pictures, but it looks like it will be a very nice building. It looks very close to being topped off, the top of the building makes it look a lot taller then your normal 4-5 story box building.

Why don't they just build a pedestrian crosswalk bridge? People would feel a lot safer doing that then crossing over 4 sets of train tracks.

In the middle part of this video (starting at 0:23), S. Elm Street looks really nice! Glad to see Greensboro being used in commercials like this.

Charlotte-Douglas gets more international destinations - Check The Vue completes construction - Check (crane is down, vertical construction is complete) City level Domestic Partner benefits passing along with GLBT non-discrimination city employment protections - Check Unemployment numbers decrease dramatically - Check (Come on really? this realistically won't happen for 2 to 3 maybe 4 years down the road.. but companies are starting to hire a lot more (see Good News Report thread), which is good enough to check this one off) Edit: That brings our tally to 6 completed tasks in 2010.. not bad!

Being a huge AC Milan fan, I love to watch football (soccer). Charlotte should really try to push for another professional sporting team. The question is.. what are the average game attendance for teams around the MLS, and would Charlotte be able to get around the same?

pardon my ignornace, but where would buildings like 300 S. Tryon and 210 Trade fit into this skyline picture?
