  1. A very large warehouse for lease on the southwest corner of W Market and Guilford College Rd was just built too. Will probably be used by suppliers for companies at the Airport.
  2. Just drove by there yesterday. I can confirm that there is construction on some type of fast food establishment looking building. Perfect size for a Starbucks.
  3. I tend to agree, its not like it was one of the very old houses in the older neighborhoods in Greensboro. And the historical significance of this one was very minimal.
  4. I don't think so, the hold up is with the city and road closure timelines for cityscape and infrastructure upgrades.
  5. Update on Carroll at Parkside https://myfox8.com/spotlight/newsmakers/major-greensboro-developer-updates-big-local-projects/
  6. The Westin construction was supposed to begin once the city completes the construction on the Davie Street parking deck, which was scheduled to open in February 2024, but was pushed back to April.
  7. Since the condemnation of the site on March 1st, 2024, the owners of the N&R site, Berkshire Hathaway, have committed to demolishing the two smaller builds on site, while the larger building is being prepped for demolition sometime in the future. With hopes that a cleared lot will increase the marketability of the site. (Ryan Co. could possibly re-enter the market for the site).
  8. I have a feeling the Westin will go up quick, once Ryan Companies figures out the lot across the street.
  9. You're right, it was early 2022, January, to be exact. Still, its only been 2 years. Let him get his feet wet a bit. He has been racking up partners recently. Cone Health is now on board.
  10. The new Owner just took over the team in 2023. Let's let him cook, I'm sure something will be announced later this year. Probably during the baseball season, so more eyes are on the announcement.
  11. Did they take the signage down?
  12. Not really odd when you factor in that W-S west to Wilkesboro doesn't have billions of dollars of investment from Toyota, who is looking for an upgraded highway towards the port of Wilmington for their business dealings.
  13. The old mill factory from the 1920s owned by Mock, Judson, & Voehringer on 1001 S Lindell Rd in Greensboro is being preserved and redeveloped into loft apartments. It's in the UNCG/Spring Garden/Coliseum Area. It's to be called MoJud Lofts. Living spaces with historic traces. Construction has been started quite a few months back. https://mojudlofts.com/p/history/
  14. It was never mentioned here (about a year ago), but US-421 is to be upgraded to Interstate-685 from Greensboro to Dunn, and possibly Wilmington, for port access. Toyota was a big player in this happening, and NC politicians made sure it was included in the Infrastructure bill passed a couple of years ago under the Biden Administration.
  15. https://www.wfmynews2.com/article/news/local/good-morning-show/ncat-north-carolina-underfunded-hbcu/83-c086d0f1-25c2-4cf8-a821-9306bd7c0c48 NC A&T SU could be looking to recoup billions of dollars worth of lost funding
  16. DH Griffin demolition cleared the Southwest corner of Pembroke and Northline. With no signs (yet) of what's going in there. The construction has started on the Medical building on the Northwest corner of the same intersection.
  17. https://www.newsobserver.com/news/business/article281112458.html Pfizer to close down two Triangle facilities
  18. This project needs to happen! It would solidify that intersection and create more re/development! This would increase the need for another grocery store in that area.
  19. The Northeastern corner of Pisgah Church and Lawndale will see redevelopment by Koury Corporation. The L shaped strip mall where the old (original) Fresh Market, Flamingo Road used to be, currently occupied by Delicious Bakery and Natural Dog, etc. will be vacated by the end of 2023. Natural Dog will move their business to 2431 Battleground Ave. where Omega Sports just closed their doors. The New Koury Redevelopment is planned, "to tie the properties along Lawndale and Pisgah Church into a rebranded 73-acre, contiguous, mixed-use development with multifamily housing, office, retail, restaurants and a parking garage." No timeline for the completion of the project is in place yet.
  20. I know the story, my Father worked under Koury before he died. I also spent a few holidays with the Craft brothers, which one of them is married to one of the Koury Sisters. It's just hopeful thinking! loi
  21. I wish Koury Corporation would do more developmental work in Greensboro, specifically downtown.
  22. The Downtown Starbucks at Edgeworth and Market is now Open!
  23. Included in the state budget that was passed today:
  24. The new(ish) team owner, Sandler, has been planning and hopefully it's a project that is even bigger scale than the first (Slugger).
